I have a set of Z06 Wheels from a C5 Corvette and i want to throw them on my 72 Camaro. I know I would need spacers but what sizes and what size tires should I run on the wheels? It is stock height but Im looking to lower it if there is any room to do so. Any help regarding this situation will be greatly appreciated.

Unless someone has done this already, you may have to mock them up & take some measurements. Z06 wheels are 1" wider than stock C5 wheels. Are they stock Z06 sizes ot C5 sizes? Some aftermarket companies make those wheels in C5 sizes. Do you have tires on them already? Is the rear mini tubbed? You doing the power tour by any chance?

Go to www.tirerack.com and look up a C5 Z06 stock replace tires. Probably a 9.5" front to fit a 275 tire and a 10.5 rear for a 295 tire.

i know what size the stock tires would be but will they fit under the camaro body? i may have to vary with tire sizes in order for them to fit? idk im just wondering and i dont wanna waste a bunch of money or time trying stuff out that dont work.

spacers possible 2" Front and 2.5" Rear? get the spacers with studs mounted on them. i have this same thread setup on two other camaro specific forums and no one is telling me anything. it looks like its going to have to be trial and error the old school way lol.

If you know your oem sizes you can plug them into this calculator then take the Z06 wheels and plug them in as well. you can then figure out what you need for spacers. you just need to watch the track width so you don't chew up the outside of your tire on the wheel wheel. i did this for my 67 with c6 z06 rims.

the fronts are 9.5s and thats really wide for a front wheel on a stock frame... it can be done but you cant be too low and youll need to add a bolt to your steering stops to keep them from rubbing a full turn. for the front youll need like 5" of back spacing so measure the true backspacing of the wheels then do the math to find the right size spacer you need. the rears will fit but it will be tight also and youll want 5.75" backspacing so do the same with the rears for finding what size spacer you need. also depending on the ride height youll need to roll your fender lips and and (if you got them) youll need to b.f.h the seat belt humps. also keep in mind factory 2nd gen rears are are offset to the side about .25-.5 inch so one side might need a .25 spacer (i think its the passenger side)

I've put 17x9 ZR1 wheels on my '71 Nova. I used 2" spacers on the front (245/45) and a combo of 1.5" and 1" for the back to get the 275/40's under the back.

Because these cars are all a little different you'll have to measure to get the right fit, in my case, even side-to-side in the rear.

Twins with Twins, definitely tough to focus.

My .02 here. Different years carry different offsets. I'm running 2001 Z06 wheels on my car. Fronts are 17x9.5 rears are 18x10.5. Front hubcentric spacers are 2" and rears are 1.5".

My advice, be sure you nail the back spacing and be sure to pick up hubcentric spacers. You do not want the wheel supported by the lug nuts alone.

Sorry to hijack a little, but I'm looking at Corvette wheels on a g-Body and have the same questions about spacers as Murvilboy.

Also wondering is there any issues with running wide wheels spacers, say 2", and beating the car often on an autocross? Do the spacers cause any undue stress on bearings and joints because of moving the weight of the wheel so far away from the rotor?

Thanks... :)
