I put one into my 'Bird console years ago, same difference. Bolted in with no problems... Should be a piece of cake if you got the right shifter.

Max I put the B&M Hammer in my stock console. I just cut the base down and then added clips to the inside that hold it down to the console plate.

I got the kit designed for the console cars and it bolted right in.

The kit is designated as a "console" model. It's about 10 bucks cheaper then the "floor" mount model because it doesn't include the black box you see in my attached photo. :D Watch eBay... They can be had for a good price there and Summit or Jegs has them for 160 or so...

how does the mega shifter compare to the quicksilver...which is easier and smoother to shift...i like the idea of no levers in the quicksilver...do yall reaslly like the mega shifters alot..is it hard to get into the gears manually say like in a racing application

the only difference i can tell between the two, and yes i've had both of them, is that the quicksilver doesnt have the pull release mechanism. To get it out of park you have to pull up on the entire handle and then it plops down into gear.

i might just have to take your word on that but i did think the quicksilver might look a little better in the 4th gen console but we will see i guess

Aesthetically yes, it does look better, but when you figure you have to physically pull up (and sometimes it aint easy) to go from R to D, and then do the same thing from D to R every time you drive the car it can get quite annoying and pointless. Which is why i sold my Quicksilver after about a month of driving with it.

I put a "Mega shifter" for a 2nd gen console in my 67 camaro console. I had to do some triming on the console, nothing that the trim plate wouldn't cover though, I also raised the console up about 1 1/4" and put additional carpet padding under the carpet to fill the gap, IMO I think it looks better with the gauges closer to the dash. I made a new trim plate to put the shift indicator in to make it look more factory like. I will try and find some pics and post them.

Thanks Scott.
That is not the best pic in the world, but you can see the B&M Mega Shifter installed and the console is raised.
