Well this is my new ride. A '65 GTO Tripower 4 speed car. It definitely needs some love, but overall its very solid. As for the direction of the build, right now all I can tell you is Black on Black with 18s. I definitely want to keep the Tripower motor and M20 speed in it for a nostalgic feel, but Id like it to handle too. I dont need a track car but I want something thatll be fun to drive. Another priority is to get it driveable and keep it that way for as much of the project as possible. It keeps your spirits up to be able to jump in and atleast drive it around the block some. Other than that we'll just see where it goes.

The main goal of this build is to farm out as little work as possible and learn as much as possible along the way. I plan on doing everything from mechanical, interior, body work, and lord willing im going to spray it:_paranoid . This is my second build and the first one was pretty basic, but I figure you need to push yourself outside your comfort zone if you are going to learn.

Right now Im just tearing out the interior and stripping molding off to see what will be reuseable. The car has a worn out 389 in it now that hasnt been cranked in awhile. Over the next couple weeks Im going to get it cranked and driving just enough to evaluate the transmission and rear end. After I have an idea over where Im at mechanically, I'll pull the 389, rebuild the front end, detail all of the engine compartment, detail the new 400 Tripower set up and the rest of the drivetrain and get it back running. Then we will proceed.

Im always looking for advice and suggestions. Feel free to chime in, I'll need the help.

Jim

Now that the weather has cooled off enough I can get in the shop for an extended period of time, the motor is coming out this evening and I'll hopefully start making some steady progress. Here she sits.
