Couple of Q's:
406ci small block built for a 72 Nova, now being installed into a second gen camaro 70 or 71. The car and engine belong to a friend of mine. Right now were having header clearance issues.

The long tube headers we have were already on the car with the 302ci but now they do not fit (collector hits the floorboards), and his hooker super comps for the Nova don't fit at all, which I don't think they will.
Any suggestions on a fix or different headers?

No vaccume ports on the intake manifold so now the brake booster has no hook up? What to do about this?

No vaccume ports on the carb, what do we do about the vaccume line from the TH350?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you:lateral:

Check the hieght of the motor mounts . Second gen's might need shorter mounts. Try the ones from the 302 that was in there, or did you use them already?
For the vaccume port you can either drill and tap the intake for one or get a spacer and drill and tap that for it if you have the extra room.

My guess is the new engine has raised exhaust port cylinder heads or you have the wrong engine mounts.

We used the mounts off of the 302, the heads were AFR's but i'm not sure which one's.

Thanks for your responses but the idiot friend got frustrated and sold the car. Our other friend who spent a LOT of time assembling and working on the motor was very disappointed by all this, as was I.

But again thanks for chiming in.

On my Hooker super comps they had a note that they won't fit AFR heads. Maybe you could check you header manufacturer to see if its the same with yours.
