I recently purchased my very 1st Camaro in December of 2010 its a 1969 X11 Coupe.I've built a few cars in the Past but never a full overhaul like this.....Here's a few pics of my old cars that I put together.

2005 C6 Corvette with a Forged LS7 engine making 558RWHP 509RWTQ

So Here's my official build Thread....

When I bought the car it had 70% of the Sheet metal replaced, as I thought the car needed No more attention I noticed rust and pin holes in sections that needed to be replaced. My plans was to drop in a simple LS3/T56 setup but That did not last long.... I ended up with a Forged LS3 Motor.Every time I come into the forum it just amazes me on how many great looking builds are going on here...My plan, is to build this car in my Garage and do 90% of the work…

Here's a list of what is going in

Forged LS3 418 Motor built by me and my local Machine shop
New T56 from RPM Transmission
ZR1 Race Twin Disk
Scott Mock's Front SubFrame
DSE Mini tubs
DSE SubFrame connectors
DSE Quadra link Rear setup

Not much of an update....I worked on The Firewall,Cowl and Dash removal.
Also Repaired the Driver's side lower rocker panel.

http://i339.photobucket.com/albums/n461/cencalc6/DSC_1345.jpg

Started to sand down the rockers and I noticed a few pin holes on the Driver's side. For being a Newbie at welding I'm satified on how the repair came out.

Thanks Ron,I'm feeling much better....I have the original steering arms that came with the frame already. The reason were making new pieces is to get a straight shot with the Rack.

^ interesting. I saw that on my AME frame as well. According to Engineer Matt @ AME, as long as the rack arms stay level w the rack I will be fine; forward, even, or back of the rack do not effect it much. Further, Matt said they designed it that way intentionally to help w Ackerman (which I had to study to understand what language he was speaking...:) )

Phillip look's Great. If you lenghten the steering arms it will slow down your steering. But it will give you more steering angle.W/ more steering angle you will have to watch your back spacing.

Wouldn't lengthening your steering arms give you less overall steering angle. The rack would move the same distance, but the longer arm would cause the angle to be less because of the lever affect.

Or am I looking at this wrong?

UPDATE 12-07-12: It's a late update, After I sold my 1st subframe I was conteplating what other Frame I wanted to go with...I was really considering a DSE unit but my budget at the time was not allowing me....I then asked a Vendor here about his new frame and that I was very interested. We both agree on price and the time of build....Basically that was a total waste of my time and it held back my progress :willy:  After that mess I called up Scott Mock that I was really interested in his new design frame and that I wanted it asap....Well It was NO surprise to me how well Scott Mock takes care of his customers...After Payment was sent, I had my New Frame at my Door in 3 weeks   All I can say is that This New Frame is piece art...Excellent quality work by Scott.

Very Nice Build Phil, First Off, I always perk up when I see Fresno anywhere, as I was born and raised in the NO or Fresburg what ever they are calling it these days. I left in 92 for service, college, and now reside north of seattle, but always try to go back once a year to soak up some central valley sunshine, a trip to pine flat or Kings River for a V drive boat ride.

A matter of fact my 69 camaro was earned by working after scool and weekends for at my grandfathers carlot back in the day on old hwy 41 near caruthers. Old Airplane on top of small gas station.

Didnt mean to thread jack. But Nice Progress on the build.

I recently made a transaction with Scott to secure one of his subframes. And have been pondering which way to go for the rear suspension. I will be watching closely on your exhaust set up, as that was my concern with exhaust.

Keep up the great work.

Born in Los Angeles but raised in Fresno.....What I like about this town is that im only 2hrs away from a Beach and 1hr away from the beautiful view of yosemite......Other than the Bad Summer heat and cold winters, Its a Nice place live......You wont be dissapointed with Scott's frame.I'm using DSE's quadralink with a little tweaking to get my proper ride height....I'm also in the middle of gathering all my 3" exhaust parts for test fitting.

WOW!! So sorry to hear this -- but I'm happy that you're going to start your own business! Good for you! Make it grow and then have someone else build you a car because you're too busy making so much money you don't have the time!

EEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAA

What a bummer Philip. Really like your work. hope all is good. I been at the threshold of making that same move. Good luck
