Looking to get new wheels for the mustang at some point in the near future. Its a red 69 fastback, it sits pretty low. Anyone with pictures/suggestions let me know. Ive even looked into wheel adapters to go from ford to chevy bolt pattern if I can get the backspacing lined up. Im open to any suggestions. Going for the pro-touring/street fighter look.
ps-Im a full time college student so i do not have deep pockets, keep that in mind with suggestions.
Thanks

How about the new wheel we just released, the GX3?

Or the DS3?

Both designs will be built to your specs and finished any way you like.
Let me know if you have any questions.

the ZX3' look amazing! and theyre different that the wheels I see on all the muscle cars around here. :D
Now that I think about it, The more I look at those DS3's..... the better they look. Might have to start saving up!

These may also be out of your price range, but SW's 69 Mustang looked just perfect with these Fikse wheels.

yep those are out as well, atleast as long as Im still in college. I love the stance of his car and thats about the height Im aiming for, maybe just a tad higher so the car is more streetable
I think the 69/70 fastback style looks best with staggered size wheel and tire. This particular car had a 19" rear 18" front. It allows a slight rake while keeping rim to fenderwell gap the same.

The cheap, good looking, ford wheels I think of are the mustang replica wheels. I think late model restoration has a set of wheels and tires for about a grand. I dont know the BS for a 69 mustang.

Yes I can run the 94-04 mustang wheels. I can only have an 8-8.5" wide front wheel because of how much my car is lowered. I would have to use a 1" spacer on the front because the ideal bs up front on my car is around 4.5". Out back Ive seen guys running 10" wide wheels and they only had to hammer in a little of the inner fender well. Rear bs is about 6.38" I think and it just barely clears the leaf springs.
Also EBMC that 18/19 setup looks awesome ive never seen that before!

Just looking at this thread again, I think the 69 FB Mustang is the nicest bodystyle. The one EBMC posted is beautiful
Thanks guys! That was the car I built a few years back to launch the shop. I sure miss it, had plans for twin turbo small block, but shop eqipment and expansion took priority!

I'd probably run a set of VWW. The V60 is kinda different from what you'd see on a day to day basis and I think they'd look pretty awesome.

Ive been thinking about these

I like the look of 18's better, But I think a 17x8/9 combo would look pretty good on my car. Silver w/ mirror lip. And The would definately be a cheap route if i can't find any wheels on craiglist that I like. Then i would have to get some 1" spacers to get the correct backspacing I think*

Well looks like I am going to pick up some temporary 17's tomorrow so my car will have a more modern wheel feel.

Theyre dirty and are sitting in a storage unit.. But $50 with tires that will last me through the fall, I can live with that!
Now here comes the fun part. He doesnt have the center caps and I dont really want to waste money on any, so should i leave them off?
Also should I leave the wheels silver or paint them like this..
http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii215/mattwash08/dodge/mustang/052007_144211.jpg
or like this..

I really just want some opinions from whoever wants to give them.
Tires are 245/45/17 all the way around... Skinny yes, But I am on 205/70/14 & 235/60/15's right now...

Hey Bryce what seats are you running?? I am looking to upgrade but am pretty short on funds. My seats are just very tired and taped up and dont keep me planted at ALL! I also would rather go with an aftermarket seat for the cool factor! :D

I have mastercraft suspension seats in my falcon. They were around 300 each. Super comfortable and non reclining and light weight. i will be switching those for some kirkey intermediate race seats even lighter and less comfy. My daily driver mustang has the summit 200 race seats. They recline, kinda heavy but handle drives to vegas just fine.

sorry to re-vive this thread, but to the OP if you need budget wheels look at the torque thrust M wheels. they look like the modern bullit mustang rims but come in B.S. for vintage cars. Mike Maier is actually running them on his car at the moment.

well after all of that.. I actually picked up some bullitts for a good deal this morning before work. Factory Anthracite 17x8's up front on some 235/50rz17 meats and some 17x10.5 repro's with nitto 315/35 drag radials out back. The color of the repro's arent spot on, theyre lighter, more of an actual silver color. But im not worried about it. all tires have good tread and it they look that bad, Ill paint the centers black on all of them. cant wait to try and stuff them. Need to pick up new lugs, and dig out the BFH in the garage haha

Old tires on outside/new on inside..

test fit one front with the 1" spacers and I think theyll work great even after I get the front end down some. Also test fit the drivers side rear using the other 1" spacer I have and it pokes out just past the fender. Have some ARP studs ordered so i can swap those out and run about 7/16". Probably going to have to run about a 5/8" spacer on the passenger side as my rear is offset a little. here are some cellphone pics of the mock-up.
