I just picked up a 65 Rambler Classic 770 convertible I got as a gift from my uncle. This car has been part of my life since 1980. I remember my uncle restoring it back when I was a youngster, I am 36 now.
In 2000 my younger brother and I got it out of a 14 year storage so my uncle could drive it again. I got to drive it around for a summer which really gave me the convertible bug.
My uncle drove it around Texas for a couple of years then in 2002 gave it to his brother(my other uncle). He never really got into it and it pretty much sat until 3 weeks ago when my uncle(the first uncle mentioned) e-mailed me out of the blue to ask if I was interested in it.
Well you know what I said-- Of course I am!

So plan is to get it road worthy and go crusin with it while I am restoring my 71 Chevelle. When the 71 gets completed then the Rambler will get restored, the 30+ year resto is showing it's age for sure.
It's got a 287 with the 327 4 barrel intake and 4 barrel carb backed by the 3spd twin stick.
Thanks for letting me share my new toy and it's history with you guys.

This right after I unloaded it from the trailer.

They were made by AMC in Wisconsin.

Plans is to make it road worthy for now and drive the crap out of it while I build my 71 Chevelle. When the 71 gets done then I will restore it as a reliable cruiser.

Very cool.
My grandfather had a couple of Ramblers back in the day.
The lines and grill on that 770 somewhat mimic the Fairlane 500 and the GTO (rear fenders).

Could be a very cool resto-ride!
