Go to page 3 of the project section and click on the yellow Cuda.

I remember seeing this car at SEMA a few years ago and thinking what a bitching ride.

Now it's at Rad Rides, When they first posted the project, it looked like they were just going to freshen up of the engine compartment. But it looks like the further they dig, the more of a nightmare they uncover. It looks like they are now starting all over.

I feel bad for the guy who owns the car having to pay to get the car build twice.

I guess the lesson for us is that it pays in the long run to go to a quality shop from the get go.

Saw this in person a few weeks ago. Trans tunnel looks like a patch quilt with all of the little peices of metal they stitched together for "repairs". This car was a total mess everywhere you looked. Engine was even messed up as it was dumping so much fuel. Heard the guy spent big money to get a car that was a big disappointment. The Rad Rides guys will take care of it for sure and he'll end up with the car he wanted the first time.

OR the lesson is you get what you pay for. If the shop promises you top quality work but at half the price of a high quality shop. Then thats what your gonna get.

From what I heard this guy got no bargain on the first build dollar wise, he just got taken.

This was the car at SEMA 2006, I loved the car and it definitely didn't look like a cheap build.

Been following it on :wow:

It gets worse, I feel for the guy and I don't even know the owner. I gues this is why it's scary as hell when your buying a finish car that looks great but you never know what the hell is under the paint!

From that way I understood it from Jack at Rad Rides when we were at their place last month, it is the original owner. I think he said there was like 300k plus in the car originally.

Looks like she's starting to rise from the ashes. New updated pictures on the site.

http://www.radrides.com/proj.htm

It looks like shes not going to back the way she came in. They already removed the side marker lights and transferred the trunk key lock behind the tag.

These guys do unbelievable work, I can't wait to see the Rad Rides rendition of this transformation.

You know these guys are at a different level when they are machining their own main caps for the 1956 Buick nail head block! Take a look at that project.

Didn't we have a thread on here recently about Sick Fish having its front suspension break and collapse ? I bought that Build Book and saw a few other compromises on what is otherwise a fabulous car.

Don't get me wrong I love Rad Rides like my own mother, but no shop is always perfect.

I looked through those build photos, and honestly I didn't really see anything that looked terribly shoddy. Of course I have no idea how it ran/drove or looked up close, I just didn't see anything that looked like horrible workmanship. Now, I didn't realize the original car cost $300k either I probably would have been more discerning.

Anyway, no matter what, whatever comes out the back end of Rad Rides on that thing will be awesome. I'm a Ford guy but those Cuda's make my knees weak when done right.

Havent found any discussion on the topic of 'Sick Fish' having mechanical failure... :_paranoid

Might have been on Pro-touring.com (in general discussion). They had modified and used a Magnum Force k-member and heavily modified. I doubt they would do that again, it certainly wouldn't concern me going forward on a newer project. In that same discussion it was also revealed that it wasn't actually a dream project for Joe Rogan, it was a project for some TV producer that wanted to make a show or something like that I don't remember the implication being that the project might have had a deadline.
