Painted or powerdercoat bumpers ?

Powdercoated finish will be more chip resistant.

Powder coating can chip too, although it is more durable. I know several of us on here, myself included, have wheels that are powder coated and have chips in the powder coat.

Because powder coating can also chip, you might want to take into account which is easier to fix. If you're worried about chips you can always put a clear bra wrap on the bumper.

Bra wrap sounds like a good idea. I'm probably gonna use it for the front end of the car too.

I agree on the fixing thing. I have a harley that i have blacked out with powder coat. It has chips and scratches all over. Only way to fix it is have it blasted and re-powder coated. I want my bumpers black, so i have thought about using some tuff chassis epoxy that will be easier to touch up because it will chip no matter what you use.

spi is now shipping their black epoxy with added uv protection. it seems this has been the downside to epoxy since it will turn "chalky". it may be a good solution.

i also had this decision to make, but since i cant get a powdercoater to match my color i have to do it in paint.

I did mine in powdercoat and then paint. Welded in the bumper mounts and shaved the bolt heads. Came out perfect.:thumbsup:
