I may be about to embark on a new floor in my car and want to cover it with POR 15, both sides. It will be easier to apply it to the floor panels before installation so..

Can I apply the POR 15 all the way to the edges and then weld and re-apply?

If not, can I at least apply it leaving about 3" from the edge for welding?

Will heating the panels affect the POR 15 after it has been applied?

you won't want any of the por-15 around where you are going to be welding for sure....I have never used there product but I would think it would stand up to some heat...3in should be enough

I was thinking about POR 15 the bottom of my car..but my body guy talked me into Rhino lining the bottom and POR 15 the inside. He said that POR 15 is light sensitive and looks real bad after a while[fades fast]. So u may want to think about Rhino lining the bottom instead.

Anyone else heard this?

Yes, POR-15 does not hold up to UV...but it can be top coateed with paint.

I decided against using their product on the underside due to all the horror stories about bad bonding to smooth, fresh metal....from what I understand it likes older metal with a little rust on it for a good bond.
