Updated the wheels on the car, went with a set of Boze Lateral-g's. They are very similar to what I was running, a brushed split 5 spoke, but these are reverse lip and the hoops and centers are clear coated.

I thought about keeping the Pilot Sports, but ultimately went with a set of BFG KDW-2's.

Just thought I'd share, I'm extremely happy with them

Those look absolutely f''n awesome Scott. Something about a split 5 spoke done right on a first gen as clean as yours...

Are those technically welded 2 piece or three peice wheels? Also, Did you get a chance to weigh them before you mounted the tires?

Thx Scott!

Ah man. I will be the unpopular guy and say it.

The HRE's looked better to me. These just don't have that ultra high end car jewelery look that an HRE wheel commands. The finish looks good though and I hope that maybe you will one day re-finish your 547's to match these.

To be honest, I don't know exactly what color it is. I call it Autokraft Red. The car was restored in '90 and, according to the paperwork I got with the car when I bought it in '01, it only stated that it was GM Red Lacquer. I really liked the color, so I had Kurt scan it and spray it the same color, but in a PPG two stage. The white is off a Vette.

Killer car, wheels, and stance. A perfect, clean package.

I am trying to decide on a split 5 spoke or a solid 5 spoke.

Did you say that you have a Nikon D90?

Thanks.

unreal cool ! My choice wheel for my 70 Z too. Wondering what is the max wheel I can go on the back without mini tubbing it ? Thinking of 17x9 rear 17x 8 front ??

Unreal pics, can't believe anyone would trash your car and suggest another wheel choice....

Scott,

The wheels look great.

Are you running the 13" 6 piston caliper Z06 brakes? How are they working out for you?

Your HRE's were nice...your new BOZE's are nice...is there anything not drool-worthy on that thing? Congrats on the new bling.

I'm very happy with them, but the stock padlets put out an insane amount of dust. I'd highly recommend if you go the C6ZO6 route to get aftermarket pads.

They do look nice. I will probably be finalizing the decision for some wheels for my '67 in the next few months and these are definitely in the running.

My question is how much work is it to keep them clean? They seem to have a lot of nooks and crannies to them. I also got 2 bikes with spokes and already spend way too much time cleaning wheels. I live in the tropics so even if it seems like a nice day, the weather can change in a hurry and the roads here get real nasty when wet.

Well, i finally pulled the trigger on a set of boze Lateral-G's but with the assembly bolts deleted. Scott thanks for all your help. A huge thanks to Zak at Boze for the pics and all the help. Can't wait to get them on the car. Attached is a pic of what they will look like without assembly bolts.
