I know there is not a whole lot of leaf spring guys out there left but I thought I would post some pic's of my Fays2 watts link. Before my last track adventure the guys at Dream speed Motors raised my front leaf spring perches up into the car and it lowered the rear another 1 1/2"'s. Apparently this is supposed to help me get more bite coming out of the corners. I ran a track day with this new set up and couldn't figure out why my rear tires were getting so hot. Come to find out my tires were now hitting my quarter panels and tail pipes due to the differential moving from side to side hence the watts link. In order to make this work I also had to narrow my tank and re-route my tail pipes in board of my leafs

Thanks Dave. I wanted to get out sooner this season but I went and picked up another toy so my schedule is getting pushed back. My first test and tune will be at Thunderhill May 14 & 15. My goal is to get into the 2:04's. June 11 & 12 I'll be at Infineon and am hoping to get into the 1:53's. July 30th I'm headed to Buttonwillow and am hoping to get into the 2:06's.

looks good. hopefully it will get some good numbers for you. i wouldnt be surprised if you have to retune both the front and rear to make it work the best for you.

keep us informed!

Thanks Tim. That thread over on PT site on the watts link turned out to be the battle of the wits but most importantly very informative. I appreciate your input big time.

I think my first track day this season will be the most challenging. Only because my only on track tuning devices before the watts were shock compression and tire pressure. I'm going to start out by running a straight line from spring eyelet to spring eyelet. At the point where I cross my bell crank, I will center the bell crank. What I think this will achieve is matching the roll centers of watts and leaf springs.

If any of you suspension guru's could chime in some input I'd appreciate it.

Sounds good man. Todd and Doug and I have been talking about getting a small group together for a track day in the coming couple months... what is the July 30th event at BW? Looks like a Speed Ventures deal? Cost?

That'll be a Speed Ventures event. I'm pretty sure the cost is $170. It's going to cost you another $20 for transponder rental and timing.

That would be cool to have a few more PT cars to show up. Last year I got a group deal set up with Dave at Speed Ventures and he knocked off the timing costs. We need to get more than 5 cars signed up though so let me know and I'll give him a call.

but do not know for sure that the center pivot should be at axle center line to start. Move up to loosen the car or down to tighten. I do not think you will need to go more than about an inch either way from centerline.

Quick ? for those in the know. I ordered a currie from a vendor here and told them of future plans( ie fays2 wattslink), They up sold me on upper greasable bushings. I don't know of compatibility issues, thats why i called! lol. Anyways I go to order the watts link and am told i need to use OEM rubber in the top links.

Now he tells me to just raise it up all the way (watts) and i'll be fine....(loose adjustabilty and will it bind or what?)

Opinions?

G - forgot to respond to this. We might be able to get a gang of 5+ together for this. I've already been chatting with 3-4 about doing something like this. Let me work on this.

Sound good, either way I'll be there. I think I'll post it as a race event. So far it's just me and John Sevilla in his '67.
