Need to drop

It's been over 3 years since I've been on here. No idea why I came on and left. I think I forgot about you guys! :_paranoid


Anyway I need to get my car dropped a bit. I put new suspension on like 3 or so years ago and I just don't like how it sits anymore. Theses are stock sized springs that I got from PST. What's a good way to drop it down. I don't have a ton of money right now since I'm getting married in Sept but its driving me nuts.

Does look like it could come down a bit...still a sharp looking ride.

I took a coil off my '68 20 years ago... I also managed to decrease the diameters of my headers for just the right amount of flow. :_paranoid

I thought about the BB thing...not gonna happen right now lol.

I'm not so much worried about the rear as I am the front.

Basically I'm looking for the most cost effective way to do this right now lol

What about a Hotchkis TVS system? Would that be within your budget? That will do the front and back, so you'll have a matched suspension system.

I would say a set of springs from SPC, Hotchkis, etc would be the most effective way to correct your ride height a bit.

With the amount of lowered Camaros out there, people forget how high Camaros sat from the factory. Your best bet to drop your ’68 is to install new lowering springs all the way around. Compared to installing a big block, it’s an inexpensive fix and you’ll like the new ride height and improved handling from lowering the center of gravity.

We offer leaf springs with a 1.5” or 3” drop from stock. Front springs come in 2” and 3” drops.

Here’s a ’69 with a 3” and 3” drop.

One more quick question. If I drop it 3" front and back am I going to have tire fitment issues?

The setup I have right now is:

Front: 15x7 American Racing Hopsters with 235/60/15 Radial T/A
Rear: 15x8 American Racing Hopsters with 275/60/15 Radial T/A

I know its hard to tell with out seeing them on the car sometimes for fitment but I have a big show coming up in May and if I need to get new wheels and tires for this to fit then I'm going to hold off until later to do this.
