trying to come up with a real budget for my 68 camaro motor. but not sure were to look for or buy the correct parts? not any pickaparts in my area so i am going to have to depend on fedex and ups for the parts. my plan is to start with ls-6 crate motor. i found one for about $6300.00 with the ecu? or would i be better off buy one from a junk yard, i found a place in ohio that had quite a few to pick from but there not cheap, kinda scary to me. has anyone gone that way? just want to do this right the first time. would like to keep it fuel injected but if the budget tells me to i will go carb. i am running a 5 speed rs-600, 4.11 12 bolt out back.
need idea's for fuel system, exhust, mounts, oil pan, wiring and cooling. that wont break the bank.

talk to frank at prodigy customs. For 6300 im sure he can set you up with something better than a bone stock LS6. otherwise go used. Hit up silveradoss.com or ls1tech.com and check out their classifieds.

if you are interested in a brand new LS1 Corvette motor I know where one is and it's a 3rd of the price you are looking at. It doesn't have a ecu but with the money you save you take your family or girlfirend out to eat for a year.
