Dome Light Always On

I've got a 1970 Chevelle that I've upgraded the fuse block to a Painless 18 Circuit unit (p/n 30003). When I switched it over the dome light is always on. I've pulled the bulb but cannot get the power to go "off" on the orange wire. I've double checked the connections and It seems to be right. What could I possibly be missing???:_paranoid

Switch in the door jamb working? Light switch turned on for dome light?

Check your pin switches in door jams.Just a thought ...check your headlight switch.

I've checked the pin switches in the doors. It appears that both are breaking contact when the doors area closed. Is there another way to check them? Also, on my headlight switch there is power to it (the red wire) however there is a white wire next to it and it appears that controls the dimmer and dome light. It does not appear as if there is any power to the white wire lead no matter how I turn the dimmer. Could this mean the light switch is bad?
