Do you guys think a 225 is too narrow and won't have the grip for a 1968 camaro with suspension mods ON THE STREET?
A lot of Euros come stock with 225 ie Ferrari etc etc but they are mid engine and we have a heavy V8 up front.
Anyone have any experience with a 225 up front?
Any input will help.
I'm trying to match the rear tire of a 305/30/19 and there is a 255/30/18 (YES 30 series) that continental makes but is discontinued so this means I have to stock up this tire and think of something that will match later when this tire is no longer available anywhere.
I may just end up going 18 - 18 after all ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh :(

225 is doable but not ideal for the front of a 1st gen. It all depends on what you end goal for the car is. You can run up to a 245 width upfront. If I was building you a set, the front tire size would be a 245/40/18 with a total tire height of ~25.7". A 255/30/18 is WAY to short for the front of your car. It is a 24" tall tire and will look way out of place.

I spoke with you one the phone and you told me if I came down I'd be able to see many wheels on display.
Is there any chance you'd be able to fit some rear wheel and tires for me?
I'm not asking you to mount new wheels and tires but one of yours or a close friends? I have a 1968 Camaro, DSE tubs and Currie 9" shortened 2".
I'm having second thoughts on running the 305/30/19 since I can't find a front 18" tire to work with it.
I might consider a 325/35/19 but right now it's looking like I'm going to have to run a 315/35/18

Come on down and we can show you some stuff. I can not mount other wheel tire sets on your car but I can show you what looks correct on a 1st gen.

225 too small on a 18x7 way too small on a 18x8. i run 235/35/19 on my 69 now. I had 225 on my 18s and they looked way small.
