Some are truly worthy of recognition.....................
Put a few gallons in the tank, tightened up my Wolverine high top drivin boots, and headed to the "Garlic Farm" proving grounds for an afternoon rodeo. The first lap was greasy as expected, then the tires warmed. After that it was on. Power oversteer, slight push but manageable by right foot. You could hear the front tires squeal as I pushed their threshold. Right then left figure eights, hard acceleration then brake test, lock up, modulating as not to flat spot the tires. Rear brakes did not lock up with the front, however they are doing their job. Steering is great for the tight stuff, the variable ratio box allows you to drive with one hand on wheel and on on shifter, rarely using other hand. Did get into second, but ran out of room quickly. In the short time it gave more confidence as the tires and brakes got hotter. This baby is a handful, pipey like a two stroke, raw and bare bones ride. Probably not a nitpick driver car, but a kick in the ass to have a great time. Isn't that what its for? :hail: Nice car Dave, thanks for letting me be part of the evolution. Lets kick ass next week! Run whatcha brung!
Pretty much nails the spirit of our obsession IMO.

In response to a member making a friendly request for fellow members to go to a website and vote for his 69 Camaro which was up against a 53 Vette, our good old buddy Todd(Vegas69) responded with:
"I voted for the Vette. Sorry, just liked it better."
Any thread with Greg Weld in it probably has a famous quote as well.

"That car ran rougher than a Night in Jail"
In my limited time here I have read so many "jewels" or "pearls of wisdom" comments by numerous members that have simply made my day more enjoyable. I figured they are worthy of nomination and formal recognition.

Rich, definitely one of the best of all time. To bad we all know the story is bunk due to the pile o sheet you were driving.
I've had a blast at pretty much everyones expense around here. I'm sure I rub a few the wrong way but it's all in good fun. Bad news guys, I gave up drinking last year after polishing off about two bud light trucks, a warehouse of corona lights, and a few barrels of Jack Daniels. :D My late night drunken posting days are over, I hope.:willy:

Like my wife always says... when I blurt out something really gross or disturbing... "you should have heard him when he drank". Sadly.... so true.
No drinks have passed these lips for 27 YEARS this May... I don't have time to drink.. I've got too much living to do. Why get hammered and miss it all?
I do agree though -- that Todd's "voting record" on the guy that asked us all to vote for his POS Camaro was the funniest thing I've read here in a long time. It was an instant Classic.

I have to take back that false statement about no drinks have passed these lips for 27 YEARS....
One asshole:D who shall remain nameless -- brought me straight vodka -- when I asked for PLAIN TONIC -- at the SpeedTech party at SEMA... I took the glass and took a sip... then realized in horror that it was vodka... well -- I didn't flop on the ground -- or go into palsy quakes... or even have to go to an extra AA meeting. But it was the ONLY sip in all that time. It ruined a perfect record. I won't forget it. I smell my drinks now before tipping.

LOL--how sweet of you to remember---I still have some of those brewskis you bought last year at RTTC in the garage fridge---guess we will give those to DR. Gordon this year.
Congrats on giving it up---I think it's a good move for lots of reasons----or was it just beer you gave up---cause Bill is probably bringing the hootch.
Maybe just one more time-----

I'm surprised I left any behind. :unibrow: I have a good buddy that asks if I'm still on the wagon nearly every time we talk. It always cracks me up. He's hoping I fail so he has his old drinking buddy back. After being a partier for that many years, sober is like being 18 and getting drunk for the first time. It's a whole new experience and I'm enjoying it.

Good for you Todd, My middle bro is going on 10 years now. His lifestyle changed so much in the first 2 years. He too is a realtor/broker, I remember him commenting once how is Sunday open houses went so much better after not going out all Satuday night and chewing a pound of breath mints for breakfast.
Btw- your a shoe-in for one liner King, but I think youve been to easy on everybody lately:lol:
