Hello ,
I am looking for a radio receiver unit only for my project. I am going to use Ipod for music source and dont need CD at all. Where could i get radio unit only? And in smaller size than standard DIN.

I've learned from this site that some are not even using a head unit, just their Iphone or Ipod. Run that to an amp and to your speakers...
just another option

The SecretAudio will do what you want, it has a remote head unit that you can plug your Ipod / Memory stick into. Small display that can be mounted anywhere.

This is what my son is getting (actually the 300 model)

There are 3 versions, if you want Bluetooth, you'll want the 300 model.
I like Crutchfield because they do the work & give you the extra stuff to get it done right the first time.
Here is a better picture of what it looks like inside

Anyone have any Idea how they are accomplishing this, I don't want to run a head unit if I don't have to .

With this cable,it connects to the Ipod headphone jack, then splits into 2 RCA inputs that connect to your amp input. You will have to plug the Ipod into your charger too for long trips though. The sound output from the Ipod is not that great,as far as voltage is concerned.Better head units put out 4 volts to get the signal to the amp,but if you're not an Audiophile,it will do.You will just have to crank the gain on your amp up.

This is the route I took on my '70 GTO project...$140 and you get direct Ipod control,remote...so you could put it in the glove box, etc.,and it has 6 Hi-end 4 volt preamp outputs...and a 2 Year Warranty!!

This is the amp I got...It will run all the speakers, including subs with out the clutter of extra wiring.
