That stuff looks good Jim. Funny thing is, I couldn't help but notice a 2nd gen sitting there in the background. What's up with that thing?

Thats a real live 1974 Z-28 I bought from the original owner (well, I actually traded him a Corvette tach drive distributor and a LT-1 short block even for it). Matching number L-82, 4 speed (of course), LT with Air conditioning, factory No smog, AM/FM 8 Track tape that works!!and points distributor(74's went to HEI), 3:73 rear (A/C cars came with 3:42's) and deep groove pulleys(never seen another one like it). Not a Super Duty T/A but it is a close equivalent for 1974. Down side is it's Brown. Every part came on the car and numbers match. Probably doesn't mean much to any one but my son was 2 years old when I acquired it. Promised it to him. We work on it any time he wants too. We have been working on that car on and off for 16 years now All of the under neath is restored and every piece of rubber is GM original Front fenders are 74 replacements I bought at Hershey. At the rate we are going, we'll have it done by 2018. I just can't make myself get rid of it. Son's off to College and I refuse to even let it set outside. I may have it finished and give it to my son for graduation.

Thanks, I needed that.

I have an extra rear spoiler set up(if you are interested) for a second gen. Its red and is missing a stud or two but will mount up if you are interested. It will take me a day or so to find it so IM me and we can work it out.

Oh and it's a freebie, you just pay shipping :)

Your stuff looks great and I would love to be able to come down and help, but I am only going to be in Atlanta for a couple of hours on wednesday. I am bringing my friend a DSE front subframe and a cool set of Boyd forged wheels and tires.

Next time I am down that way I would love to come and see your car

A DSE subframe? Is the the DSE subframe out ,or do you know something I don't?Maybe it is a stock subframe with DSE suspension parts?

XcYZ

Payton's subframe is a stock one unit with all the DSE goodies on it. The DSE complete bolt-in subframe isn't out yet. I talked to Kyle yesterday about a few things, and that was one of the things that came up.

Jim what did your set-up run?

Ummgawa
01-21-2005, 05:48 PM
1200.00 including the coil overs. I did not buy the sway bar as I have the Hotchkiss rear set up already. I sent over the pictures of the Jigs that were supplied with the kit, Maybe Scott can load a picture of them. Gary makes the kit almost fool proof. I still have the DSE mini tub set up minus the tubs. I was considering finding a Nova or maybe a 74 GTO and mini tubbin' that. (Course I have to buy the Nova tubs from DSE. and a Nova :D )

Kinda like the Guy that said "If we had some bread we'd have a Ham sandwich if we had some Ham." :D

Hey Jim, thanks for the offer, but I already installed a rear spoiler. It's two different colors, so I have some sanding to do. Also, you're making me think about that Martz rear setup for my car. Even if it is just for the "cool" factor.

Same here. Too bad I can't afford tickets or I'd be there to help out with your car. And that also tells me that you only looked at the first page......

The Georgia Red Clay is a standard color here. I have power washed, cloroxed, prayed, sprayed, and cussed and can't get the red out. The "Ghost Turds" are from the packing... ;)

Zbug, my bad, I have since mended my sorry ways and went to page two, three and four. Lookin Good!!

Jim I was thinking on the story you told us that you keep the floor "crowded" so that your wife wouldn't find your new parts. I guess a complete rearend is hard to hide. :)

Unless you like dealing with hard asses who don't like to do customer service, stay a way from Martz. Just some advice from someone who got bit.

Sounds great.. how long will it take for me to drive there??? :)

That Camaro sounds nice.. even if it is brown and your car seems to be coming around, sucks to not have a "done" car huh?

Thanks for the pics!

WOW!! Pullin one from a year ago!! the car has been in the body shop up until about 5 weeks ago. I am changing the ends to johnny joints to help eliminate binding. I have been waiting for DSE to sell the swivel links stand alone, but not yet. It has been freezin cold here, to the point that the heater in my garage isn't effective. So it needs to get warmer so I can make progress.
