Check it out.. i did a small piece a few months back on this guy John Dicksa and his 73 camaro.

while i was looking at his writeup i thought man.. this thing is protouring BUT even more so STREETFIGHTER!

so i wrote up on it..

now a few months later i get an email from none other than the man himself Mr. Dicksa!

i got to talk to him a little bit, check out what he has been up to in this mini interview!

Thats the feature story i have been referring few times when someone has started "who started pro-touring" topic . I still recall reading that issue when it was only few years old. It was part of my older friends shop library. I am sure i still might have it somewhere.

Pretty serious ride over 30 years ago :wow:

I was just going through my magazines last wknd and ran into a few copies of that issue...had to take a moment to leaf through it...both of those cover cars were killer!:yes:

that was probably before MOST of us even had cars, or wrer even thinking about cars that wern't 1.24 scale

I STILL have that Feb '81 issue of Hot Rod in a storage box!! That's one of the cars that inspired me back in the day. :unibrow:

I remember that issue , isnt there a good Monza artile in there too?
I found that mag again at a swap meet in the 90s and bought it again .
Wasnt too excited about the orange 1st gen ,but the 2nd gen:hail:
