Now that RTTC II has opened registration, I want to see how many NorCal guys want to get together and cruise down south as a group. I've talked to several guys about it and many sounded interested. Would be a fun thing to do I think if we can coordinate.

I know of a couple guys not on the forums much are in. Anyone else interested, post up here.

And also if you are planning to sign up for 1 day or both.

Greatly looking forward to this event that I missed last year! :woot:

Now that I know Rodger is in - I'm out.

I will, for certain - be doing this event once again.... except that I was planning to bring a big baller 2011 S63 AMG Biturbo to the party.... but have now been informed it won't be here 'til MARCH "if I'm lucky". Regardless.... I'll be driving something down so will try to go with the group.

Rodger-- depending on timing we could roll by your shop on the way down -- you're damn near the 5 right?

I am interested. I should have a car by then, but not sure it will be something Autocross worthy though.

Does this book up quick? If I get something to race, happy to join, but if I dont I am happy to go as a spectator, just dont want to pay the fee yet.

I just don't want you throwing your food at me and drooling on the tablecloth... and since I'm barely able to sit up at a table... without a booster... and your knees are hitting the bottom of it (the table). I'm afraid you might tip it over and hurt me.

Guys, here is the registration link, be sure to pass it around to anyone that wants to attend. In 28 hours, 48 of the 150 spots have been spoken for so looks like we will sell out fast. I am so looking forward to this event. It was such fun this year and with two days of track time, RTTCII will be twice the fun. Plus, if we can get Doug to do the taco stand again, who knows, maybe Elvis will show up...haha
Charlie, come on down, we promise the autocross is big enough that you will enjoy it. Besides, we need someone semi famous there to fancy up the place..

Anyone know where I can get a conehead hat? I need one for Greg! and yes, I promise pictures once he gets it.....

There will be spectators we just can't let it get out of hand. Volunteers are needed and appreciated. Both days we will need help so let me know if you want to come out and help.

Trust me, I want everyone there. IT is the city of Irvine that controls El Toro and we have to play by their rules.

I want in even if I can't watch the event. The drive down with some of you guys and the stop at Rodgers would be good enough for me. I'll have to see if I can volunteer to put out cones or something. I'm good at that working at CalTrans. Put out cones, screw up traffic & sleeping in the cone truck on the side of the freeway is all we do.

ironworks

My thought is that going through LA after 4 pm would suck. We could meet at my place Thursday for some kind of early evening meeting at my place. Then Leave about 6pm from here and should have smooth sailing to El toro when we reach LA at about 8 pm. Then arrive about 9pm. Otherwise you guys would have to leave Sac really really early to be through LA by 4 pm.

Blake Foster
12-05-2010, 09:52 AM
it's more that 2 hours from your place to Eltoro??? isn't it?

I would say lets set up some definate meeting places and times!! that way it is up to different ppl to be there ON TIME or miss the ride, if you sit arround too long it messes up everything.
i am comming from the furthest, i will stop in Redding on Wednsday Night. and head out from there at 7am. so i would be in Sacremento by 10 am then to Rodgers by 4 pm (counting on stopping in Sacremento for 1/2 hour to group up).

if ppl picked places to join up along the route and just fill in that may work.

then leve Rodgers at 6 pm and be at the hotel in Irvine by 9pm.

Let me throw something out their for you guys!

On Friday.. you can leave in the morning.. stop by my shop during lunch time & JCG will host lunch for you guys.. get us going by 2:00 or 2:30 to avoid heavy traffic thru LA.. No matter what.. you hit traffic into LA but @ those times it is not that bad.. You guys coming in the 101.. Scenic drive on the coast!!

I will be trailering my car if completed!! I don't know if it will be street legal by then...

Blake- It is going to be cold in Feb... so don't forget to bring your long-johns & your Elmer Fud hat to keep your ears warm!! LOL

If we had a 4-6pm meeting spot at my shop, we could leave here and travel 156 miles to El toro. It says 275 hours. So just after 9pm. Then on Friday we could see about doing some things like maybe some shop tours. So Cal Speed shop, Walden Speed shop, Foose Design, NHRA Museum, etc.

I'm sure we could come up with a few more things to do. I made Hotel reservation for Thursday thru Sunday.

I Will wait til the dust settles and then I'll choose my poison.

I'm with Roger ---- Get to El Toro on THURSDAY -- and mess around all day Friday (that's what we did last year) and make a nice weekend out of it.

Last year we hit Ironworks on the way down -- then on Friday hit Bent Fab - JCG - Tom Nelson (Nelson is in the same parking lot as Bent)... and had a nice cruise down in HEAVY traffic - but that's because of bad planning. We also did Best of Show in there somewhere... which was another good trip.

i will be going through Sacremento at about 10 am on Thursday, so anyone who lives there should come up with a good spot, i think one of the Rest areas would be good as they are easy to get in and out of and you could have a mile marker to know which one ?? and make it on the south side ???
just an idea.

so who lived there and can do this?

I'll be coming thru Ptown to pick up the "Main Event Bobby B".... and we'll be ballin' in something big and black and spinning twin turbos.... that I'm not sure you'll be able to keep up with....

Send me PM or email and lets connect for this trip in Ptown if we can.

WE want to be in that No Cali town (It's actually now in Northern Mexico) for the Thursday afternoon meet up at "Giantworks". In order to do that - we'd really need to leave on WEDNESDAY I think?

Giantville in No Mexico is 857 miles SOUTH of Ptown.... and while I once drove my truck and trailer 1050 miles in one day -- I don't care to do that again...

I was thinking of heading out Wed nes day - and stopping at Neds dump in Manteca so we can beat him about the head and face.... then head out early Thursday and doing the Thursday afternoon thing?

ADDED THIS: I'd also like to stop and pound on the other giants - Charley and Jody in Scratch-your-momento area on the way down.... IF - BIG IF - they'd ALLOW us to see them.

I'm not really sure if that was English, Or just Pacific Northwest Environmental Hippie Trucker Talk, But there is a minimum Height requirement in Giantville and you are not there. Plus it is just plain obvious you not a teenager awaiting your final growth spurt, even though I'm quite sure you did not get ever get a growth spurt, I do not make the rules. But if you would like to confront Jody and Charlie you will need to pick on someone your own size and since you would have to stand on Bob's shoulder while he is standing on Tony's shoulders to be that size, I'm not sure how effective that would be or safe. Maybe we could schedule a midget wrestling event to go with our dinner activities.

Hey now take it easy! If Greg was on Tony's shoulders he'd be your height no need for me to be in the middle of them. I am atleast to your chest. Them 2 are at your belt buckle.

I am semi thinking of driving to Griffith Park and/or Mulhuland Drive and take pictures on Friday, then meeting everyone at the carting or TCI for the BBQ. It is just something I have wanted to do. We'll see how the plans go.

Anybody else leaving the area late Thursday?

So take Steve Heino & Scott Borduin off the list :(

If anybody needs our entry passes for both days, let us know via phone @ 503-939-6899, or email at [email protected]
I would prefer to let the passes for both days go together, but will split it up if two people get together and need them.
