I bought this trans from another member on the board (72novadriver) about 6 months ago with about 6k miles of street use (basically just broken in). I have changed directions with my project and this needs to go. Trans has an energy suspension trans mount installed, along with a like new Pro 5.0 shifter. Also have a 3" steel driveshaft w/ the TKO slip yoke setup for 68-72 Nova available if anyone is interested.
Asking $1775 +SHIP. Any other questions please ask

What is 5th gear ratio?
Hydraulic throwout? included?
Bellhousing, clutch, pressure plate included?
Crossmember included?
What car was it meant to fit?
Did you get to test drive the car it was in before being pulled out to make sure it was ok?
Thanks
Ray

Ray,
5th gear ratio is .64. I am just selling the trans, no additonal parts are included other than the trans mount and speedo cable. This will bolt up to any traditional sbc, bbc, or LS motor if desired. I was not able to test drive the trans before purchase, but I have absolutely no reason not to believe the seller of its conditon or mileage. If you have any additonal questions don't hesisate to ask. I will have some pics up soon.

It is probably common knowledge to the guys looking at these awhile but what shifter position is optimal for a First Gen Camaro?
A friend of mine has a T56 in his '68 with the shifter in the factory console. I would want a different stick but would definitely like to have the same trans tunnel positioning.
How does that rearmost position fit in the 1st Gen Camaro? Any idea?

I believe Hurst Driveline conversions has their blackjack shifter available for use with the TKO's that posiitions the shifter perfectly in the stock console.

Hurst Blackjack Offset Shifters
Hurst Blackjack Shifter for Tremec TKO & Tremec T56 Magnum Transmissions
When installing a Tremec TKO 5-speed or T56 Magnum 6-speed into a classic car, achieving shifter stick positioning in the stock shifter location is a priority for many applications. In addition to achieving correct shift stick positioning it is equally important to use a high quality shifter that is built to last and that has a good shifting feel. In other words a shifter that positions the shifter stick in the correct location but is poorly built is not an adequate solution. With these requirements in mind we have engineered the Hurst Blackjack shifter. The Blackjack shifter is direct bolt on unit that requires no modification to the transmission.
•Factory fit in stock center consoles
•No console modifications required!
•Short throw design
•Billet aluminum construction
•Low profile design for easy fitment
•360* Delron pivot ball
•Genuine Hurst quality

The rear most shifter position should fit within a stock console without issue using the proper offset shifter like posted above. PM's cleared BTW

The TKO 600 fits perfect in a 69 Camaro without any modifications and you can use the stock TKO shifter and it will fit perfect in the console, it is not necessary to buy the offset shifter.

Shoot, I'm not going to break it on purpose. I'll likely go the liberty route since it's the easiest and most economical.
