I just finished putting in a new engine in my son's 1992 Z28. We were ready to fire it up and...nothing. No electrical power. I've got a new battery and tested the circuit. It's good. I'm a little tired right now and not thinking straight. Any ideas on where to begin to chase this down?:willy: :willy: :willy:

Check your fuses and starter wires.

If you have checked to ensure positive is getting to the starter, the very next thing to check is you grounds.

Is the starter hooked up correctly?

Do you have a remote start switch / button? In case you want to "hot wire" it and use that remote switch instead of the ignition...

Do you have a volt/ohm meter? Check to see that the wire you hooked up to the starter solenoid is actually switching to on with the key in start?

when you say no power, do the lights work or is everything dead? If lights work but it won't crank look for a neutral safety switch that's either disconnected or mis-adjusted.If it's a stick car it needs to have the clutch pushed all the way in for the neutral switch to work and the starter to function. Auto must be in park or neutral.

Thanks guys. All things I have to check. I probably should have also said the car has been sitting for about 5 years.

When I said no power, there is nothing...no lights, door buzzer, like the battery is not connected.

I won't get a chance to look at it until the weekend but it looks like I'll be busy.

When I hooked up the three wires to the starer I missed the most important one...the one from the battery. With all the wires, hoses and the tight fit it got lost in the jumble. Started first time.
