Well since Stielow will have his car in PS 3's GT 5 I thought I would give you a taste of it. This is me racing one of my online racing buddies at Suzuka road course in Japan.
Pardon the graphic language.

Sorry bud, no AMC's. Z06 vettes though,
I remember when GT1 came out and they had a '69 Camaro with same color and paint scheme as mine, :) that was pretty cool.
Do you have Gran Turismo Prologue now? If not let me know and after you get GT5 I'll help you with tuning.

You should get on Iracing.
That's a kids game. no way you can hold a car at that speed off track.

Im sure it will be a lot better now that theres tons more cars and tracks. graphics look better from videos I have seen online. One thing I never liked about the GT is that the mods you cant do (engine swaps, drivtrain swaps, body kits, turbo or superchargers) that you can In the Forza series.

It is done online a regular 24 hour per day racing series. Car set up and adjustments for each track play a big part in your performance. About a real as you can get with out leaving the house.

Sounds pretty cool. How does it run on wireless internet? Or is it best to hardwire in.

It needs to be set up through a hardwired connection. I don't think it will even work on some Internet providers.

My computer will handle it but I know my internet wont. We've been talking about changing internet provider anyways due to connection issues. Going to wait till after the holidays.

Iracing is no game......it's a sim. I would love to go that route but what I would have to spend on a new computer and all that.....hell I could get the Chevelle driving again and do it for real.
Would have picked up GT5 by now but the wife wont let Me........wants it to be a Xmas present......:willy:

You don't need a new computer for iracing.
I used my computer at home it auto configs per the hardware you have and then determines how well the graphics will be.
I spend $250 for a logitech G27 and spent $275 for a playseat.
Its alot of fun and so life like. I just wish I had some coin for a real simulator seat.

Driving 2009 ZR1 in GT5. got it to 762 HP and saving up for aero kit. The ZR1 is fast off the show room floor and extra horse power makes it hard to handle without aero. Nurburgring is my favorite track and I'm running lap times under seven minutes.
I would do Iracing but my internet connection sucks in my area from any carrier.

The level of detail in Iracing is must much higher than GT5. The cars in Iracing have been added using the actual CAD programs from vehicle manufactures, they have gone out and laser scanned each venue to get every nuance in track surface. If you have a good enough system and controls you feel when you transition from asphalt to concrete repair patches. The big plus is the people your are racing against are not snot nose punks looking for the next cheat code but real racing people looking to keep their skills sharp.
The overall graphics in Iracing are not as realistic but the physics are more so, from what I've seen.
And after re-reading Your post 96Z I realize you were talking about net speed not game difference

Yeah, thanks. I had AT&T over yesterday and today to try anf figure out why I'm not even getting 3 Mb's to the house. I get dropped even when playing GT5.
When I start getting a better internet connection then I will get into IRacing.

I was enjoying GT5 but then a friend told me that Forza 3 for Xbox 360 was coming out with a car pack that has a 1971 AMC Javelin! GT5 is a much better game but they don't have an AMC so I had to jump ship
check me out...

GT5 is the best simulation game on the market, way better than Forza. Now when the new Forza comes out I will have to try it so I can do another comparison.

I'm late to the party having just got GT5 for christmas. Having a blast using a wheel playing this game.
Anyone else still play? My PS3 tag is Dfnoob
Add me or let me know if you still play.
Just learned about the remote racing today so let me know if you have any b-spec drivers you want to level/earn cash with.

Chad, I posted over at PT, but my wife basically cut me off from GT-5 for playing 8-10 hours straight with my online buddies and not spending any family time.(true Track Junky, )
If you can set it up with surround sound go for it, it sounds bad ass!!
The key is car set up so make some friends and ask the faster guys about set up. I have a notebook with all my different car set ups for each particular track but that was with Prologue.
With GT-5 I used to run Nurburgring constantly. Love that track!! Very challenging.

ha ha Gaetano. Before you even referenced it I was thinking your lat-g ID was indeed telling.
I've probably spent more time on the Nurburgring Nordsheife (however it's spelled) than any other track in GT5 so far. Lots of fun!
I still need to race modify a 69 camaro but one that has every other single option is a lot of work to drive well. Damn thing is all over the place!
