I'm getting ready to weld in my lower firewall. But for three days now I have tried everything to make this thing fit to no avail. The issues are endless. Right now as you can see in my photo bucket pics I have the sub bolted in. it bolted right up no problem. Now keep in mind that all the mounting points are from my old UNDAMAGE locations. Everthing as of now has set right in,upper cowl no problem I also made a jig off the old one before I cut it out. I set the new one in the jig and it welded in perfect. The floor literally fell into place! Then I set the lower firewall/toeboard in and now the issues are extensive. I two main issues the right side rocker is about one inch from the toeboard. The left side right at the area that the firewall meets the upper cowl it out about an inch. Now if I push this back with the portapower I can get it to sit where it needs to but then it pushes the area down where the floor meets the toeboard creating another issue. Then the next problem is the subframe mouting points all change because I'm forcing everthing back. Like I said before the subframe bolted right in.. I have to believe that this lower firewall is just made wrong. Has anyone run into these issues with these aftermarket firewalls??? If anyone has any ideas give me a call its alot easyer to explain whats going on. This is just a general discription of these issue. I'm tring to get some pics up but my camera is giving me fits. 708-751-8432....

Just to be sure, did you take a measure to see if the floor was square?Assuming you're replacing a full floor.Did this car sustain some sort of collision previously? What brand sheetmetal are you using?

No previous damage. I did replace the whole floor. I purchased the firewall from DnR CAMARO it came unboxed I don't know what brand it is. everything measures square.

And of course I just talked to DNR CAMARO and the never had any problems with these firewalls. So I'm the only one on the planet with this issue.... Imagine that...

Just been informed DYNACORN is the only one that makes these firewalls... I have no idea if this is true or not.....

Well it was as simple as locking everything down . Mike told me where to put all the vice grips then had me lock the subframe in place. He knew EXACTLY where I needed "TAP", and trust me it took a lot more than that. Every time I had a section in place I gave it a little tack weld so that section wouldn't move. And just kept pushing and tapping until it all set in place. It's funny Mike knew where the problem spots were before I even told him.The problems I was having are very common with these aftermarket firewalls. What really pisses me off is every reseller I talked to said "No one has problems that we aware of". Yet Mike has had the same issues with everyone he has installed.

Good to hear Mike was able to help and had all the answers! God knows Mike has done enough of them to know what it takes to make the parts 'work' together!

....ok time for more pics! :D

Mario -- They're "not problems" because the people that buy this crap fix it!

Mario....glad its resolved now. However the only way these parts will get any better is if we call the companies and inform them of what we had to do to fix there excellent reproduction, nice fitting sheetmetal. Maybe if they hear enough feedback they will correct some of the problems.

I know it takes time to do this and we may be wasting our breath, but I know AMD welcomes feedback.

Nothing ever fits from a firewall to a license plate holder. :unibrow:
