Ok, I knew it was coming, but !@#^%$!#@ UPS freight wasn't supposed to arrive until after 2:00 today (I scheduled that yesterday)... I got home a little before 2:00 to find this in my driveway:

At least they put it close to the garage door! At 335 pounds, it was a bit hard to drag into the garage by myself, but I managed.

This is Jake's front subframe and suspension for my 2nd gen Firebird project. I purchased it with the optional DOM control arms and Monoball control arm bushings. The knuckles and hubs are C6 pieces. Jake powder coated the arms in a Charcoal Metallic color, and the subframe is a satin black. Looks like UPS knocked a few scratches into the coating, but nothing too bad.
I'll tear into it a little more tonight, and into the car this weekend. :) I have a lot more pieces that should start arriving in the next week or so...
I need to get a build thread started for this car. Hmm...

Thanx! I'm pretty excited about getting this project started now. I need to place an order for a few more odds and ends, but I should have Jake's torque arm to match up to the front in a couple of weeks, and the LS2-based 402 should be going on the engine dyno this week, so I'll have it in hand by mid-December.

So how long do You figure that not so cheap piece of merchandise was sitting in your drive way unattended? Granted at 335lbs not just any one could come by and pick it up but in some places you'd be surprised what a well motivated meth-head can do........
So much for signing for packages eh?

Very nice. Nice looking sub frame. Keep us posted on the build.
(So much for UPS listening to the customers, huh? I hate when they just drop stuff off and leave it in the driveway or the stairs without letting anyone know. OK, rant on UPS over.)
Have fun!

It was out there for about an hour. I was pretty irritated, they even went so far as to call yesterday to schedule a delivery time, and they offered me a slot after 2:00 since I knew I would be home then. The delivery slip they left said they delivered it as 12:53.
I sent Jake a few pictures of the scuffs in the coating, and he called UPS. Surprisingly, they actually called me shortly thereafter to schedule an appointment for an inspection of the damage. The more I look at it, the more little marks are in the coating. It won't really matter, they are purely cosmetic and most aren't visible, but I know Jake had to go to some trouble to get the coating done.
Anyway, enough of the rant. Instead, here are some more cool pictures. :) Thought I would give it a bath and take a couple of pictures before I tear into it over the holidays:

This one shows the PC color pretty well:

Nice setup, I think we will really like the rear setup too! Did you go with a Panhard setup or the Watts link?
Jake does some NICE work...

I altered a couple things, but most of it is Jake.

I have a Watt's link on order with the torque arm. Should be here within a couple of weeks, so more pictures to come. Hope my next experience with UPS goes a little smoother!
Nice looking setup you have there!
Looks great. I'm surprised that UPS left something that expensive without a signature.

For me they once left a $600.00 piece of furniture I had mail ordered without a signature.........at the wrong house two streets over. Luckily the people that lived there were honest.

No Doubt! Ya shoulda called them and asked where your delivery was after you dragged the sub into your garage!!!
They could've financed the rear end for you!!!:unibrow: :D

Looks like good stuff. For those of us that are not in the loop - who is Jake?

Jake is Jake's Rod Shop, or JRS. I'm not certain if he's a sponsor here, but a quick Google search will get you to him. :)
While I'm here, I made a big hole for some of the new toys this week:

That sub is a nice looking piece.
As to UPS Freight leaving something without getting a signature, that needs to be specified as a requirement by the Shipper when they create the waybill. Has nothing to do with UPS...
That thing really should have been crated better...I'm not surprised at all that it would get beat up in transit and get scratched, with nothing but a bit of stretch film to protect it on the top side.

The item was shipped NON STACKABLE as all my other subframes are shipped.
All freight shipments are suppose to have signature for delivery
Ups already sent a rep out and is paying a claim for the damaged coating.
Ups bill of laden has no options for signature on delivery as ALL delivery's are to be signed for.
I have never received a freight delivery without signing for it, on top of that he made an appointment for the delivery, which is protocall for residential delivery's.
