any one had any experience with any of the racing seats off of ebay. there are some on there that look pretty cool. i mean can you buy a cheap seat. i am planning on recovering them anyway so could the hardware be that bad.

Most of those $169 for a pair ebay "racing" seats usually have real thin tubing as their main frame. They tend to be kind of big/wide. I'm pretty average, 5' 11" 170lbs, and they definatly did not hold me in very well. Also the fabric isn't very high quality, but then again you are recovering them so that really isn't a big deal. Some of them don't have a quick tilt system. The ones I saw had a knob that you had to turn about 20 times to get it to tilt forward, then you had to turn it the other way 20 times to get it back into the right position. Some do come with a quick tilt though, so just make sure you check.

Lets not call them "racing seats" as nothing about them has anything to do with what be in a racecar except for the look. They do look like racecar seats though....
