Hey Guys-

What exactly is 2K urethane and is it better than other types of coatings? Thanks!

2k is 2-part component system which crosslinks in curing process and gives a solid base for top coats.

As far as what's better,it's more like what you're comfortable using according to your budget. There are many 2K primers on the market as well as hybrid primers, polyester primers and they all work great, just try to stay away from cheap no-name stuff,

I've always had great results from Evercoat Slick-Sand and FeatherfillG2 both are polyester high-build primers and at $40-60 per gallon is impossible to beat. For flexible parts and high impact areas I use Sherwin Williams P30 2K primer, it is very flexible, has amazing adhesion properties and sands easy like nothing else ,it also comes in different colors like red, black, yellow, green, blue and grey, which helps if you ever get chips, this primer is also can be easily converted to sealer. It costs about $300 gallon, plus you'll need hardener and reducer and converter if you want to make it into sealer.
