My 67 camaro is almost ready for the road. It is currently at a shop in NC getting the final work done on it and I live in CA now. (military move) I have coverage with USAA for now, however when it gets here it will become my daily driver. I've contacted Grundy and Hagerty and some other standard insurance companies but I run into the issue where the specialty companies wont insure for daily use, and the standard companies wont insure for more than blue book value. Is there anyone out there that found a company who will insure the classic daily driver?

Once a car becomes a DD, then that takes the "specialty" part out of it. A big reason, if not the only reason those companies can insure us for cheap is because our cars are driven less, so they have less of a chance to get into a bad situation.

With Grundy, I have no special exclusions to speak of, but that's because my car is not a DD

Your best bet is to probably talk to your regular insurance company about insuring the car. Way back I had to do that with my Camaro, but first I had to get it appraised, and let me tell you, the insurance was not cheap at all but they did insure it for the stated appraisal amount

Most insurance companies will do agreed value policies, however you certainly pay a premium to do so. If you shop around, you'll find one. I previously spoke to my insurance agent about it through American Family.
