Not many times in my life I'll admit to taking on more than I can handle but with my t.a. build for ousci I did. Yes I went way too far with this one and with all the normal delays for parts and stuff not fitting or just not working I was way behind, so in walks Carl Wegner about two weeks ago he looks at me and said how in the f**k are you going to get this thing done, well if you know me I think I can get anything done in any amount of time, well at least I used to think that way. So he leaves and the next day there's two of his employee's standing at the door asking what needs to be done WOW!! So he had his own guys out of his own payroll working on my car intill it was loaded on the trailer thursday morning I cant thank or say enough about these guys and urge everyone to buy your next motor, front drive or what ever else you may need from Carl and the boy's. I doubt you will find any one else to help you out like they will.
So it's on the road for sema right and I've never felt like more of a weight has been lifted off of my chest seeing the truck and trailer leave my shop. Sorry for not keeping up with the build thread I will be updating pictures from sema. So I'll see you guys in Vegas!!! Telly

WOW! You don't hear things like that too often these days. That is a very gracious offer for sure. Not only are the Wegner people great people, but they can build a mean engine!

Agreed. We will hopefully be taking delivery of our new Wegner 415 in November! Carl, Casey, and Dan Timm have been great to work with. They have basically sat on our parts for a year because with our delays we did not need the engine. They are top notch! :lateral:

Telly, that is just great! I have to admit reading that, imagining the amount of stress you have been under, and how much they truely helped....well, it put a tear in my eye and smile on my face! There's nothing greater than helping others when they are in need!
Every year we here about SEMA thrashes and all that are involved to get these cars to Vegas. The fact that you didn't ask for help...but it just showed up is a whole nother thing! Like the others have said, I will remember this! I'm sure the Wegners just wanted to help a friend that was in great need...but they do deserve a huge pat on the back and it's a great example of the type of people they are!
Just a reminder that humans are great...but 'Car Guys' are BEST!! :lateral:
See ya in 'Vegas!! :woot:

Not surprised to hear that. Won't find a lot of folks of that caliber.

My dad recently told me a story about when he first met Carl in the 70's. Carl was just starting out on his own and my dad heard about him through a friend. Dad's drag car developed a problem with a valve in one of the cylinders so he took the head over to Carl to see if he could fix it. "Yeah sure come back Thursday" Carl told him. When he went back to pick it up Carl asked him who the hell had done the heads on the car. When my dad named the shop, Carl just said, "that figures, you may as well bring me the other head". When he went back the next week to pick up the heads Carl didn't charge him, saying to my dad, "you are well respected by the drag racers around here, just try to send me some business."
The car picked up about 5 tenths of a second (from 10.30's to 9.80's) the next time at the track. You can bet my dad has been a fan of Carl Wegner's work ever since. If fact, a year or two later they put together a UDRA Pro Stock Vega and went drag racing together. Carl went on to meet Bobby Allison and his involvement with stock car racing exploded.
Now you know why I have a Wegner engine in my car.
