I'm looking at a set of door wire looms to run my power window wires through. I found a stainless set with a 3/8" ID. Is that the ID everyone uses? I saw a set with 1/4" Thats got to be too small. Any help is appreciated.

Alot of cars go with that, But be thinking about adding in wires later on. See if there is a next size up, Better to have a little extra space than not enuf

Wayne ---

If I was to do it over again -- I'd use the multipoint contacts in the doors... and not run any wires.

Like the Magnum Shooters (just one brand...)

If not that -- the best ones I've found are the 5/8" looms that use a stainless steel SPRING wound loom. Like these:

The braided hose versions "chafe" --- and the black plastic versions are just cheap crap. Just MHO.

If you're going BRAIDED loom ---

THIS - which has a nylon swivel to ease that chafe problem

Is FAR BETTER than this version:

The aluminum door insert portion has sharp edges and the braided hose is like 80 grit! Remember that these have to move and in an arc -- and the braided hose wants to straighten out not arc! YUCK and NASTY....

X2.
If you add power door locks, such as our keyless entry kit, you will add 2 more wire for each door. Other kits use a 5 wire actuator.

When I put power into my 69's doors years ago, I went to the junkyard and opened a bunch of car doors until I saw some stock rubber boots that I liked.

I just drilled out my doors and jambs, inserted the boots, and now it looks like they came that way from the factory.
