I'm the second owner of my 1969 pace car rs/ss, 350, 4spd (m20), 330 gears, purchased in 1977. Always been BB wanna b. So after 33 yrs, I took out all the original driveline and related parts and storing them in my dealership (warm and dry) for safe keeping in case I ever want to restore to original. Replaced them with a 454 (550hp/550 trq), tremec 5 spd, Ford 9" rear w 373's. Now deciding on mufflers off of Hooker headers. Everyone keeps recommending Flowmaster but I don't care for the pingy/tin-y sound. Another friend recommended Stainless Works mufflers, but they are expensive. Anyone have experience with the Stainless Works? Any other suggestions for a good old fashioned deep tone without sacrificing hp?

Welcome ... look forward to seeing some project pics.

Not sure about the other mufflers, but I've heard a bunch of Spintechs lately that sound great.

Welcome!

Magnaflow is far deeper and more hot rod sounding. I like the Flowmaster sound but they're what I'd describe as pro street/race car sound.

Most of those big manufacturers have sounds on their websites --- or sometimes you can search YouTube for guys that have posted up their new exhaust sounds.
