His build thread is on that site too.

Best sounding street LSx I've heard so far. He gets on it about the 1 minute mark.

This one-of-a-kind Show Winning Corvette was the August 2008 Corvette Enthusiast Cover Car and was also featured in the 2008 Corvettes @ Carlisle Chip’s Choice Display along with several other incredible “Vette-Rods”.

The foundation is a Tube frame from SRIII MotorSports. The DriveTrain consists of a 2002 Corvette Z06 LS6 Motor with new Heads, Cam, Stainless Works Headers, and a Magnuson Intercooled SuperCharger. As you can see inthe pictures below, a little “Bling” was thrown in as well.

A Camaro T56 6 Speed with Hydraulic Clutch Conversion and Denny’s Driveshaft Heavy Duty Aluminum Shaft connect to a Dana 44 with new 3:90 Gears. C4 Corvette Suspension front and rear with QA-1 Coilovers provide the adjustable ride control.

Since completion in 2008 the car has been driven only 1400 miles.

Looks like a pretty cool build.... and I'm not saying this to be mean - but this is one of those "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" kind of builds (to me). A C3 !!

The asking price of $55K --- for a car that most likely cost triple that to build is why I say what I say. The C3 body is not the most sought after Corvette in the history of the galaxy (Where's Al when you need him?).

The owner of the car owns www.vettetech.com (http://www.vettetech.com) -a well respected shop and I think its a great rolling advertisement.

Oh -- don't get me wrong Skip - the craftsmanship and "idea" is top notch. I just can't see doing all of this on a C3.

It's like doing a '54 Chevy instead of a '55.... come resale time which one is the smarter "investment" to sink a butt load of $$ in?

That's very kind and I could not agree with you more. It's not the most popular body style and certainly lower on the Corvette resale value. But I built it for me for various personal reasons at the time. Besides, everytime I look at it I just get a #@%^ng grin on my face. But that's me.

But I'm sure there is someone out there who will appreciate it the way I do and for what it is. Did it cost twice that to build, sure. But it was certainly not built as an investment but someone will benefit from that.

Thanks again,

Joe..

ps: It's one fun ride...

I like it and it's my favorite corvette body style. I'd change the wheels.

Joe -- It's a top notch looking build and I certainly hope you get a good sale out of it!

Greggers, you know better than that! How much of us build/modify these cars while even considering the meaning of the word "investment"? Nada. Zilch.

:lateral:

That LS does sound especially nice!

Dave --

No doubt about that. Cars should never be considered an "investment". They're toys - play with 'em - enjoy 'em - and hope like hell you get 50 cents on the dollar.

My point was more -- given the above -- I'd rather sink money into a 69 over a 67 Camaro --- or for that matter a 74 Camaro.... motors cost the same - paint - wheels and tires - interiors etc.

It's a really nice Corvette --- and built with everything you can throw in there... so I'm not degrading the build at all. Other than just saying what I have.

Weld, if I had your money I'd put a LS9 in a pinto.

I was actually laughing at Dave's comment about how we all know we don't do these as investments. Trust me -- I can think of VERY FEW people that have absolutely WASTED as much money on cars as I have... and I've had a LOT of 'em... so the first rock should be through my own window!

BTW -- I like the LS9 in a Pinto idea -- but I'd go with a Vega instead...

I knew you of all people get it, Greg. :woot:

I don't generally love the C3 myself, but this is a great example of making the best out of that platform.

Good luck with the sale.

I'm not a fan of the C3 myself at all mainly because of the sardine can feeling inside of it.
Of course , opinions are like a**holes and you might not like 2nd gen Camaro's. :D

But I have to admit, yours is probably the nicest I've ever seen , enough to change my opinion of them. :)
I think the interior is totally badass, and the engine, paint, rims, good lord man.
Exterior looks like you went for the Grand Sport look. :)

That car is SICK!!!!

Well that's probably one of the more come from the left glowing endorsements I've had. Thanks.

Yes, originally I had sort of a Grand Sport theme in mind. But then it took many different turns and in the end it just sort of ended up being what I considered to be something from every generation thrown together (C3 body, C4 suspension, C5 LS6, C6 Paint\Wheels, and some misc C1 and C2 emblems and other misc parts).

Granted not for everyone. But it is a fun ride.
