Hey guys, I contacted the Caltrans office and Patrick Chandler the Maintenance Public Information Officer was very helpful with this information. I hope we can get to cruise the Crest as a group very soon. I mentioned that the members of Protouring.com would like to be there on the re-opening of state route I-2 and It would be nice to have a large turnout on that day. He said, “that would be a very great idea” “I will keep you posted on the re-opening of I-2”

Let me know if you guys are up for this?

Angeles Crest Highway Repairs Continue
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces that SR-2 from La Cañada-
Flintridge to Mount Wilson Road will remain
closed to the public due to severe damage resulting
from heavy rains. SR-2 remains open from Mt. Wilson Rd. to SR-138.

At several locations along the highway, construction crews are repairing the large gaps in the
roadway and drainage systems that were washed away by heavy winter rains.
Trespassers will be cited and possibly arrested for entering the closed section of highway.
For more information:
Public Information Officer Patrick Chandler

SR-2 is closed from La Cañada-Flintridge to Mt. Wilson Rd.
and is expected to reopen by November or December 2010.
All pictures were taken on 9/3/10
