Okay guys I’m currently running a turbo 350 in my car and need a little more top end. I’ve got a 700r4 that I was thinking of rebuilding and dropping in my car and was wondering what kind of things I need to look out for. I found http://racetransmissions.com/store/product_info.php/cPath/23_166_173_174/products_id/342 for the shifter conversion but not sure what else is needed.
oh it's going in a 69 camaro.

Follow the link andrew5 gave u, probubly one of the best i've read on the net. Make sure u buy the beast shell and use that even if your shell is ok. I have yet to see a beast shell break its$40 worth of insurance. And i personally always put a hydraulic lockup valve in them i don't trust the electonics, plus you wont have to wire it up it'll lockup the tc all by pressure and gear selection. Im on my phone at the moment but when i get home i can post the part# for that valve. And i buy all my parts and kits at www.transmissionpartsusa.com

ok the part# for the valve is K61970, i get them locally at a trans rebuilding shop here the last one cost me $17. cut one coil off of the spring that comes with it and add a tv check ball(large check ball) on top of the old torque converter soilonid that is in the transmission to seal it up. These only work in 700r4 that have the bore in the valve body for the lock up valve some of the newer ones do not. also for firmer shifts i would add a .500 boost valve, corvette servo or superior servo, large ratio reverse valve, and a 10 or 13 vane front pump rotor and vanes. if youd like part #'s i can get them for you. and just a fyi you can buy everything in the monster in a box from eat my shift from transmission parts usa for 397.00+ the 5 pinion planets there out of stock but they only add 120 to the price so its still cheaper than the 799. but less convienient.
