Buying a new stearing colum for a 67 comaro

Which is the easiest to install, best for the buck? I want to buy a tilt column for a 67 Camaro. Flaming river or Ididit.

Having problems with turn signals and its grinding when you turn the wheel .


Think a replacement would be the way to go and get tilt.

i have an ididit i can make you a deal on. i orderded it for my '67 camaro. painted it black and then did a '02 camaro dash and column swap insted. so its new but 4 years old. PM me if your intrested. its a tilt column.

call up ididit and see if they have made a collapsible column for your car yet. after finding out that my 70 chevelle column was originally collapsible and their part was not, i had them build me one that was. they said that they were going back through their catalog and redesigning EVERY part number.

yours most likely didnt come with one since it was pre '69, but your chest will thank you.

Hence, buy a factory tilt column. They are a bit more spendy, but worth it IMHO. That's the next major part going into mine.

I've got a factory tilt in my '68, and it fits, well, like stock. Got it on fleabay a couple years back.

The only thing I'd caution with the factory tilt, or any tilt really is that there is very little room for the wheel to tilt up thanks to the shape of the dash. On the factory tilt there is only one stop that is above where the straight column would be. It's nice to gain that little bit of space, though.

you also need to make sure that the factory collapsible tilts are being mounted with the factory collapsible mounts. if you mount it with an aftermarket solid mount you will remove the collapsible feature from one of the two directions.
