I was looking at a Nova for sale. It wasn't too bad of a car until I got to the trunk. Has anyone ever seen a coil-over mount like this in this location? How sturdy can it be? I e-mailed the owner and he said he built it himself. Just kinda threw me off a bit. I've never seen shocks go through the trunk like this.

Maybe he was going for that "through-the-bed" pre-runner look? LOL!

the back seat i guess.
i was wondering how well this design would work and how practical it is. just doesn't seem right to me.
I haven't seen anything like that. Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence though. Looks like there would be a lot of flex to me. Do the ends of the horizontal bar bolt through the inner fenders?

Not sure about the bracing and all that being bolted in, but as for the coilover through the truck floor, back when MNCA and 10.5 tire super street cars still had the stock frame rail the coilovers went through trunk floor just like thoughs BUT they where tied to the cage that was WELDED in the car NOT bolted in. Spiro Pappas (69 Camaro black with yellow strips silver cage) His car had that set up again NOT bolted in but all tied together with the cage, stock rails only notched for the mini tubs and ran low low 8's high 7's before he built a new car to keep up with the Mustangs.

Exactly what I was thinking. From the pics, it does not appear to bolt through the inner fenders, just the vertical pcs. in the trunk.
It has a tiger cage that's just bolted in but it does not tie into it in any way that I can see.
