View Full Version : Musclerodz introduces project "N-XSS"
Musclerodz

Musclerodz is proud to make project "N-XSS" public. We have had this project unders wraps for several months while the wish list of parts was finalized and the engine built. As you might of guess by the name, this 67 Camaro is being built "in excess" of everything.
With out giving away too much here is a quick list of parts as follows:
Speedtech front sub
Alston Air Link rear
Accu-air management system
magna-charged LS3
6 speed manual
Marquez interior
host of Marquez and Fesler billet parts
ISIS wiring
Autorad radiator and core support
Boze wheels
and many other goodies I have forgot....
I will update this thread with more info in the next few days, but for now we will start with the rendering my customer had done as a teaser.

I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself - long time viewer and admirer of the cars on here. I am fortunate to have Mike working on my car - he is a very patient man - I have thrown dozens of questions at him every day for a long time and he still hasn't gotten rid of me. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a passion and precision for his craft. I know I am in good hands.
I look forward to all ideas, criticism, and sarcasm from anybody. Reading and seeing pics has made me spend more than I ever thought possible. :lateral:

And now for the heart of this project. First ever Wegner built Magnacharged LS3. Waiting for specs from Wener, but it is a 418 ci stoker with a TVS2300 pumping 15 lbs boost. Front drive system is one off including the new CNC inlet for the maggy to accept a 102 mm TB. Engine made 914 hp and 870 lb/tq. A rep from Magnuson was there, and to their knowledge this is the most anything has gotten out of a small cube LS3 with the TVS2300. Here is a link to the dyno run. Turn up your speakers!

What color is that called?
There was an early GTO at Car Craft this weekend in St. Paul with a color similar to that...my God it was a thing of beauty. May be color used on some late model GTO's...for sure the concept.

Rendering color is a little dark. It will be more of a yellow/gold base with orange pearl.

This is the first of several updates coming. In order to get this car low, we decided major cutting will be required. Without revealing to much too soon, the entire floor of the car has been removed. I wanted nothing below the pinch welds of the rockers, so starting with the newly aquired speedtech subframe, I cut the rear rails in half. Don't worry, there will be plenty reinforcing of the chassis to handle the reduced loss of strength.
With the rail cut in half, it also required lowering the front body mount and core support mount equal distance. With modifications completed, and front subframe mounts bolted directly to the car, the sub now sat level with the pinch welds of the rockers, and the front floor pans are only 1/2" higher than stock.

Well, I am reverse-justifying my 4" cowl. It was there when I got the car. :D
But, I have grown to like it, I must say... everyone and their mother runs the 2" cowl these days. :P
I do love this 3" idea... and with that, back to the story of this badass car...

Here is a teaser update until this weekend after I finalize a few plans and loose ends. Car is being fast tracked to debut at GG Columbus and we have to get to Tracy's May 1 so things are going to move very fast from now on.
This is the start of what a Musclerodz wide body treatment looks like on a 67-68. By doing it way I have done the first step, you will not notice the rear is wider unless it is parked next to a stock one. We are also completely reworking the rear lower quarters and lower valance. More to come......

345 but could easily go bigger.
One of the things I really like about this approach, besides the beauty, is that you can run a wider tire on a wider track. Nothing scientific that I can quote on my part, but I just think it will run better on a track than a more narrow rear. Kinda like the width and stance of an Indy car. Any opinion on that?
Oh and...

Yeah it does. Considering it's from Killer 'Nando (sounds like a guy from the movie Conan or Blazing Saddles but we know better  ), I'll take that challenge. Besides he's the only guy on this site that rivals me in 'late w pics' and project delays. Plus his front end is waaay too heavy w that huffer...
But for that to happen:
- Fernando would have to unload all his show hardware. Winning!
- Fernando would have decide he's actually ready to nick up Mike's beautiful paint job.
- Fernando would have to figure out a way to unload his car off the trailer without scraping his exhaust!
I'll see you both on a track this summer. And not just AutoX, Fernando...:)
