By far the sexiest body style ever to come out of Japan. Merged with an LS1 it may be the perfect sports car. How'z it handle?

I am all over that! Do you want to sell it? It seems there is a guy that has an RX conversion like yours and his car pulled 1.0x on the skid pad and was an absolute bad ass at the track.

that is a great car ... i have had two of the rx7 r1 models and loved them both other than the powerplant , which seems to be the major week link in them , was that car built in Huntsville , Alabama by chance ? i know there is someone doing the conversions like that there.... props to you man ... These are cool cars. The LSx conversion adds very little weight to the car, actually Hinson's says that they may be a little lighter with the V8 in place of the rotary with the sequential turbos.

I seroiusly considered doing one of these a few months back when I had a line on a 95 RX7 with a bad engine. Body was too rough and I didn't end up buying it.

Now that is how they should have made them. I love it. Was the conversion difficult? Who did it, how long did it take, and was it expensive?

beautiful car! Would definately drive it.. I think it would be cooler with a 4.6 DOHC from a Cobra, but that is just the Cobra lover coming out in me. :D

That is one import I would not want to line up against on a Friday night. My brother loves RX7's and I love Chevy's, sound like a match made in heaven for us.

Yikes that would be a tight and heavy fit those OHC heads are HUGE haha. Cool idea however gotta love how the LS1 maintains the great weight distribution of the RX7.

The LS1 is all aluminum, and is very light for its size.

Isnt the Cobra engine an iron block and the heads are aluminum? I know my brother has a 98 cobra and it is an iron block and is wide as all get out.

Also I think the 03-04 blocks were iron mainly to take more pressure from the boost the car makes. Any way what do I know Im a Chevy fan.

took it to the dyno and Sac raceway

dyno showed 535 HP at the wheels -I thought it was high considering what was on the motor.

4-9
Jon -who put the car together for me, took it to Sac Raceway and ran a
11.7 @121 rolling off the line.

Looks like a field car to me. (inside joke right Rob?)

You really need to see this car in person. First rate build and the way it sounds. You know it ain't no rotary.

I was just about to ask what kind of times that thing would put out.
Rx-7s were known for being Very light and very good to great handling.
