As some of you may know, Shay Campbell's 69 Camaro Camaro ended up here on Long Island in the hands of fellow member JimHamptons. And winters on Long Island are cold and boring. So what do we do? Take apart perfectly good cars and make changes.

Well, this car is getting some big changes. The work is being done by Todd Tureski at TLT Race Tek in Water Mill, NY
-The heavily modified stock clip will be replaced with a 21st Century C5 clip.
-The blown big block will be replaced by the Thrasher's spare all aluminum fuel injected 580HP 400 small block.
-The TH400/Gear Vendors will be replaced by a paddle shifted Hughes 4L80E.

As built by Shay Campbell, the car was a real sledgehammer. Killer burnout machine! After the mods, the car will be more of a precision instrument.

Sweet! I know the feeling of long cold & wet winters. Jim looks like he's adding some killer personal touches to the car!

If I remember he put on C5 upper and lower control arms, did he sell the old subframe? Very nice car! We will need comparisons

The entire drivetrain has been sold off. The modified stock subframe is still here. The suspension parts have been moved over to the new clip. Best to PM me or Jim if you want more info.

Thanks for posting the progress so far Steve and all your help and advice to help me through this process.

I am looking forward to this new setup. Having close to 1,000 horsepower at your beckon call is nice to know, but was not very practical for my motives with this car. Now, it should be more capable in the corners and much more streetable to make it a semi-daily driver.

I am looking forward to what the weight loss numbers look like when the new setup complete.

Very cool, I lived on LI for the first 32 years of my life (Rocky Point) and get out there a few times a year to see family. Also drive through southhampton on a regular basis when there, small world!
