Option 1: Leave as is
http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad152/cydushane/camaro69-2008.jpg
Option 2: Remove the chrome and emblems leaving only what's in the rendering

Option 3: Remove the chrome and emblems add Anvil carbon fiber, painted leaving only the stripes as shown in the rendering

My initial reaction is to say leave as is. However, I'd be curious to see it without the wheelwell moldings...

#4 Get it on the road and thrash it, then worry about making it pretty. :unibrow:
Personally, those wheel well moldings and bottom trim don't work with your wheels. Start there and give the rest some thought. I don't think you'll stop at a carbon fiber hood either.

This season, option #2
Then upgrade to #3 over the winter.
Less work right now = a very fun summer!!
Ps. I'm with Todd....once the wheels went on the car...the trim needed to go.

I voted for #3 -- but after reading Todd's post -- I agree with him! Ditch the wheel molding..
That or scrap the whole dang thing and get yourself a nice looking Nomad!
EEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAA
Everybody has one of those Camaros!

I voted #3, but perhaps with a different, more modern lay out for the stripes.

With those wheels....... You need to lose the wheel well molding, the rocker trim on the bottom, and the chrome gills in front of the rear wheel opening.
In my opinion........, but it is still a heck of a good looking car.

I agree 100% that the chrome around the wheel well, rocker panel and gills have got to go along with the emblems. I've thought this from the time we got everything put back together! Just toyed with the carbon idea and couldn't decide :_paranoid But yes, first priority is getting this engine swap done so I can get this thing out to treat REALLY dirty :unibrow:

I'm a fan of #3 too. If you only get rid of the bright trim your white stripes are going to be the only thing people notice, which would be a shame since the flat/gloss finish on the wheels is really trick.

For those who don't know this car it was built by Alan Johnson for Bob Johnson and now owned by Doug Cooper.

I AGREE 1000%.
I like the traditional look. Black rims look to tuner to me. Just my opinion but do whatever turns you on. Beautiful car  car

IMHO the wheel moulding trim has got to go,only like that look on completely stock cars.
What you do beyond that is your business...

Clearly people have different taste. Saying he needs polished or chrome lips isn't really the theme of the thread. That's been done a million times anyway. The moldings removed will wake up that car. I bet they are already off the car.:unibrow:

Black out front bumper for sure--since your wheels are all black, the wheel moulding doesn't work. If you had a polished lip on the wheels, I'd say leave it on--my taste only as I like mine that way---and I would see how it looks making those changes first before I began restriping the car. If you are thinking repaint, then I agree with others--beat up the car some first--it takes a lot of rock chips and dings when you are using them---my real advice, stop making it too nice---that seems to end up chasing people away from driving them and really enjoying them. (I think the Carbon stripes are the way to go if you shoot the car--so option 3)

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner & you nailed it Doug :D
Here's what I'm doing:
Front bumper will be painted black, all emblems will be removed, chrome wheel well molding, rocker molding and the gills are outa there. For now I am leaving the white stripes as I don't want to do any major body work, this thing was built to thrash, not to ride in a trailer :unibrow:
Oh yeah, I got the other car in today and that motor is gonna be a SWEET addition
