Just rec'd this video clip from Jason at Timeless Kustoms (building a '66 Chevelle and '69 Camaro for me). He will be at GG Columbus in a couple weeks to autocross and compete for SMOTY. Fun to watch.

I also like it.BUT the roll bars suck.Makes the car look unbalanced.I would build some new bars before the SMOY dudes look the car over. They will keep it from getting in the top 5.

He took it out to run at Buttonwillow a few weeks ago and they would not let him on the track because the drivers side rollbar was too low. Jason lengthened it temporarily. It will probably be shortened for the show. I agree...looks funky. The car weighs under 3K LB's with an LS9! With the AME chassis, it should do very well on the autox at Columbus vs. the other SMOTY entrants.

I think this Corvette is really cool. I wonder if this car has enough modifications to be a contender? The last four winners have been pretty heavily modified to go along with lots of "go": 09-Roadster Shop 62 Corvette, 08-Ring Bros-Razor Camaro, 07-Ring Bros. Reactor Mustang, 06-Johnson G-Force Cuda. Every year the bar gets set higher.

The tall roll bar is for racing..it is replaced with a short bar for street. Takes about 5 mins to change out.

This car is way cool and very tastefully done! I saw at GNRS. You'll just need to see it in person.

Yep, the rollbars look pretty bad. Also, it seems like the beautiful lines of this old Vette are lost in the paint scheme. Typically these Vettes are covered in a vivid paint with a lot of chrome and with it all being blacked out along with the dark paint, it loses a lot of its vintage look. It almost looks like a kit car to me. Regardless of my worthless opinion, it's still a very unique car and I'm sure it hauls ass.

Even shortened, they don't work for me.I think they should be bolted in when doing track days and loose them for street duty. Just my crappy opinion, but I don't own it! The only opinion that counts is the owner's.

I think the bar has been the same height since the G-Force Cuda. It is going to be a while before anyone raises it another notch or two.

Good point!

If the bars can be replaced, then they can probably be removed.

I'm wondering if they're in there with some sort of quick disconnect? No need to even show up with those in for SMOY and cone racin' .
