You regret not buying a G8? Don't worry, there's still time. They aren't extinct just yet.
It kinda is for me. I have a daughter that will be driving in a year and the next car is for her. Plus I seriously have to save a some money for College.

Between the 2 badass Camaros you have - you shouldn't regret anything.
Stepping up from a 98 Grand Prix GTP to the G8 was a big leap for me.
Stepping up from the G8 to the SS Sedan was just the next progression.
I really disliked the early 5th Camaros - but with the steering wheel improvements - the 1LE handling package - then the Z28 - I respect them.
If I didn't have the Corvette - I'm pretty sure I'd be in an 1LE right now.
As far as the G8 - love the exterior and the performance - but I thought the interior was lacking. It has a good sized color LED screen - but its a worthless radio. My 2008 did not have bluetooth - and the overall interior design was by Holden by reminiscent of the crap Pontiac interiors they produced in the early to mid 2000's.
The SS - has a much better interior - it has all the bells and whistles - but I think the exterior is bland and looks like a damn Malibu.
With the few changes that I have made - I am liking it a lot better.

The G8 is the generic CTS-V. Has a lot of potential, but it will never be a Cadillac, so the interior is what it is. Still a good car, though.
I, personally, like the SS. The fact that you have to look twice to realize it's not a Malibu is the best part... Because by the time they look twice, all they see is the taillights.

It has been a long while - I ran the Power Tour a few weeks back and had a good time - I saw a lot of friends and family. I went on the first 4 stops then headed home.
First big update - is that my new house/shop is almost ready to get moved in - I move in 3 weeks - so everything is a mess around here - boxes and stuff everywhere. Then the move - and setting up my new shop. After the move is done - I'll finally get the Corvette back in my own garage - its been in storage for the last 6 months - it'll be nice to have it at home. After I get the shop setup - I plan on installing the blower.
I have a few things I need to do when I'm in there - replacing the leaking from timing cover gasket, and the gasket behind the crank pulley, install my new ARP crank pulley bolt - and pin that setup - then add boost.
I was up at my father in laws shop where the Vette is being stored - and I had some time during Fathers Day to sneak away and get some mods installed - a few years back I had installed an aftermarket leather shifter and ebrake handle - but never upgrade the shift boots. I got the shift boots from the same company that made the knobs - the ebrake boot was a bolt in, I had to take apart the shifter boot and adhere the new one to the stock plastic ring - overall it only took a couple hours and everything went in relatively smoothly.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/471/19132479795_6309276da8_b.jpg
While doing some research on the CNC l92 heads that I have - I found out that the valve springs on those heads are the truck valve springs - and not the LS3 springs. The max lift on this springs is not high enough for my LS9 cam - so I decided to go aftermarket and upgrade my springs to the Comp Cams 918's. I got a 10% off coupon on the Power Tour - and used that by ordering form the trailer - they came in a week after I got home.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/255/19089758359_d813bdddd2_b.jpg
Also - after seeing a few 15 SS sedans on the Power Tour - and seeing a FB post about a Brembo rear disk swap - I started doing research. The 2015+ come with 4 piston rear Brembos - the G8 and 14 SS have a crappy single piston rear caliper and the rotors they used are super cheap and are already rusting. Since I have a set of 2009-2014 CTSV2 - front 6 piston caliper Brembos sitting in moving boxes - I figured I would get the rears. The CTS, Camaro, SS all use the same rear brake pads and pin kit - the calipers are for the most part the same as well. So using a set of 2015 Chevy SS rear rotors - CTSV calipers - I'll have a full Brembo set on my car.
Some may ask why not stick with the Chevy stuff - well the SS just says Brembo on it - no Chevy badges or anything - and then there is the price.
I got BRAND NEW both passenger and drivers side rear CTS-V calipers for $240 shipped from Amazon - the 2015 Chevy SS rear Brembo is $360 a piece!
So - I will soon have V brakes all the way around - also Hawk HPS pads, and Goodridge SS brake lines:

With the pending move / new shop build - look for these to get installed in at least another month!

Wow - my last update was 4 months ago...
A lot has happened since then.
First - I moved into our new house/shop. We closed on 7/28 - and I spent a solid month painting, installing lighting, and getting my air compressor setup.
If you want to see my house and shop build - check here: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=276996
Second - I have been waiting to work on any car projects until I get my lift setup - I got it all measured up and finally got my anchors today. I plan on getting that setup this weekend.
Third - The first project I plan on starting will be the CTS-V front and rear brake swap on the SS. I had the Front 6 piston brembos on my G8 - now that swap involved drilling out the iron spindles to make the brake to caliper bolts fit. I had been waiting to do this on the SS because I didn't want to do any big projects until I got the lift setup. Well I just found out the SS has the bigger holes in the aluminum spindles already - so its just a bolt on, ugh if I had only known! So I masked up the fronts and will paint them this weekend:
Brakes by 3M:

Fourth - I have been tracking these on ebay for 4+ months and finally bought one:
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5806/22064718301_cd8269b331_b.jpg

This is an LSA blower from a ZL1 / CTS-V. I got this lower blower half for a really good price. These blowers have coupling go bad inside the blower. GM doesn't want to spend the time to tear into them and replace a $40 part. Replace the OEM coupling with a CNC Delrin one - and boom you got a blower at a really good price.
Now this is going to be a long term project of collecting parts - as I still have a warranty on the SS for a few more years. I still need to get the intercooler/top lid - the pulleys and fuel rails and rest of the parts for this to be a complete bolt on.
Plus I need to get the E-Force installed on the Vette first!

Thanks Joe!
So I got the fronts painted up - and have started on the rears. I will start those tonight.
Once I finish my MaxJax lift install - I will get started on this brake project.
I got 99% of the way finished with my lift install - but cant finish it because I ran out of epoxy for the anchors - I was on my second to last anchor when I used up the last of it. So I ordered some from a place in NY - and hopefully they get here soon.
Now for teh pics:

I got the 15 SS rear rotors painted up - now its time to flip the bleeder screws and the brake fluid passage tubes around on my rear V calipers - will ride on the back side of the rotors - vs on the CTS-V they ran on the front side of them - this will keep the smaller brake piston on the bottom.
My epoxy for that last anchor will be here tomorrow so I should be able to finish the anchor install tomorrow night - and be able to lift one of the cars up by the weekend!

So the epoxy came in on Thursday - and I got the last anchor epoxied into the ground that night. I let it cure for 24 hrs and torqued it down - it held with no issue.
So I bolted down the other post - and tested out the lift a few times and then lifted this:

Love the update on the car but the new house and garage are awesome
Thanks Marty - its been a long ass year since we signed the papers for the new house - sold my house in January and closed on the new house at the end of July.
Painting and getting everything setup in the shop took forever. I still have a few projects in the garage that I want to get done - but I have car projects stacking up. Once I get this brake upgrade completed - I will turn my focus back to the Vette - tear into the motor - and then bolt on the E-Force!

So I have started breaking in the lift - I started on my first car project today!
I got the SS up in the air and got the CTS-V 6 piston brembos bolted on - along with Stainless lines.
Unlike the G8 - these where a complete bolt on and I didn't have to mod the car in anyway. I think Holden designed the SS for big brakes - I didn't have to trim the dust shield at all - unlike how I did on the G8.
I have finished up the front end - I am waiting for 2 bolts on the back end but I should be able to get one of the sides complete.

Good to see this coming together. Been following your exploits on both GJ and
Lateral-g. Nice cars. I had to go to the dealership last month to drop off a new truck from work for some warranty stuff and while I was waiting to get another that was finished, I had a chance to check out a red SS in the showroom. The window sticker had an augment that asked for "Best offer over sticker!" Sticker was $48K. Z28 outside didn't have a window sticker and the salesman I talked to said they wouldn't entertain any offers under $100K. I guess they planned on keeping the cars for themselves( Freeway Chevrolet in Tempe AZ).

So after waiting for the bolts - I made some good progress on the rear.
I mocked up the rear caliper - and it hit the dust shield - so I trimmed it and got the clearance that I needed. I then put the 15 SS rear rotor up and hit the damn dust shield - FAIL! The rear dust shield wraps around the stock rear rotor and the lip prevented the rotor from sitting all the way on the hub. So after stocking up on new 3" cut off wheels - I cut off the lip, painted the dust shield, and continued on with the swap.
I finished up the passenger side - and got the drivers side tore apart. I could have finished it up tonight but I don't want to piss off the neighbors with late night cutting/grinding.

This might be a strange question but do you hear any clicking from the front wheel/tires/hubs when you're driving slow and turning hard (parking lot maneuvers)?

If you have read this thread - you know that I had a MaxJax lift installed in my old house. I brought that lift here to my new house and I have already used it.
My first project was the Brembo upgrade on the SS - and had no problems with it.
With my upcoming winter/long term project on the Vette - I needed to make a change. I removed the hydraulic pump/electrical assembly from the little power cart that came with the MaxJax - and put it on the wall - up and out of the way. This freed up more floor space - plus saves me from having to bend at an awkward angle. I had to order another 18' of hydraulic hose - but that will be here tomorrow. I will get that new hose install and rebleed the system tomorrow. I might start on the fuel pump swap on the Vette - but I think this upcoming week will fill up. If not I will start on it when I get back from SEMA.
Some pics of the power unit up on the wall - and the cars up in the air.

Not much of an update - I am still waiting on that hydraulic hose to show up so that I can use the lift.
I painted 2x11 and 2x4's that are holding up the power cart and some tools and parts arrived.
I found a guy selling some LSA parts - idler bracket and pulleys and the LSA purge solenoid.
I also ordered a valve spring compressor tool - as well as a spark plug compression testing thing to hold the valves shut while I swap valve springs.

Since I am about to drop my fuel tank and install a ZR1 fuel pump - I decided to put the Vette up on the lift and check my clearance with the garage door fully up.
I've had it in the air before - but never tested out the door being open. I nudged it up there until I could get the safety bars in place on the lift.
It fits - but barely. No way will the SS fit up in the air with the door open I would have to get a high lift door conversion for that.
Its really close:

They have a high lift door conversion kit that you swap into the rails that you have - that might be a long term project whenever I decide to throw the LSA onto the SS - but for now it will be fine.

So todays project was just to empty the tank - well that escalated into getting the car in the air, taking apart the fender/wheel well to get to the tank, then dropping the tank!
Of course the return line inside the tank snapped when I got the crossover tube disconnected - so I'm on hold until the replacement parts come in from Amazon.

Quick update - my fuel lines for the Corvette finally came in - so I tore the gas tank apart to swap out the fuel pump for the Z06 pump - and the new lines. I got everything apart and noticed that my fuel level sensor was messed up. It had a exposed wire on the bottom of the sensor - and the contacts are also bent the wrong way.
So I ordered a new one - and get to play the parts waiting game again.
Looking at the new sensor design - they flipped the wire contact points to the top. If I had not discovered this issue - it for sure would have caused me an issue in the future.
So maybe by next weekend - I might be able to wrap up this fuel tank swap and get the car back running - after that its engine tear down time!

So I had some free time today - so I decided to finally modify my Trans Jack - I might use it to get the gas tank back into the Vette.
This started off as the Torin 1K Lb transmission jack that I got from Northern Tool.
I cut the bottom of the stand off - and drilled the three holds for the leg mounts - and finished up this project.

Back to the Vette:
A few weeks ago I had noticed that the rear tire was leaking air - so I took the car to Discount Tire to check for a nail - they didn't find anything. They noticed there was some corrosion on the inside bead of the rim - they scraped it off and put some black sealant on there to make sure it held air. Fast forward to today - I took the wheel off the car to take it over to the shop - and have them check it again - and I discovered this:
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5689/22591876714_f52cd0efa9_b.jpg
So now I have a ballooned sidewall - and maybe a leaking rim... awesome!
Glad my really expensive 345 tire is now junk - I wasn't really planning on buying new rear tires just yet - now looks like I have to add those to my list as well!

Long time no update...
So my fuel project turned into a big cluster bomb - and I'm going to have to drop the drivetrain down to get full access to it.
So since I am going to have to drop the trans and torque tube - I decided to order a clutch and replace the stock LS2 unit while its apart.
I picked up a new LS7 clutch for a really good price - and it should hold my power with no problem.
I have driven a few LS7 Z06's and I really like the engagement - way different than my LS2.
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5797/23295240579_fd1d5516a0_b.jpg
Also while I was clutch shopping - I happened to look on Amazon for a set of Kooks long tubes for the SS - I had been watching the price for awhile and the dropped from $800 - to 700. 600, then dropped to $571 - so I picked up a set since they where ridiculously cheap.
Those came in as well - I am a long ways away from installing those - but at that price I couldn't pass them up.

Truck update:
Awhile back - I replaced all of the outside halogen bulbs with LED's.
Today I finished up the lighting upgrade by adding in the footwell 194 lights - and installed LED's in there as well. Overall the footwell lighting was fairly easy - soldering, heat shrink tubing all the wires up is what took the longest.

So I started on my clutch install tonight - I got a few parts off of the car.
I got the rear splash guards out, the rear wheels off, and the exhaust is off - from the headers back.
Next will be the torque tube plate, probably one of the headers, and then it will be rear subframe/diff/trans/torque tube - and I should get access to the clutch.
I'm not sure when I'll get to the clutch -as the holidays are coming up and shop time will be limited.
This pile is just starting to grow:

I wrenched a few more bolts tonight - and got torque tube plate out, and got both of the gas tank shields off the car.
I also measured the height of the trans and subframe and the trans jack - and the max height of my car on the lift - I'll have about 4" of clearance.
So I should be able to get the whole rear end out as one unit - and not have to break it apart. That should save some time.
I also got my black Gorilla lug nuts installed on the front - I think it looks a lot better then the old chrome lugs.

So I started off with the Vette sitting on the ground this morning - and well I got a lot done today.
I got the rear coilovers out, then disconnected the rear upper control arms.
I had to take out the drivers side long tube header to get access to the bolt holding the slave cylinder to the bell housing.
I then got the slave cylinder disconnected, the brake lines disconnected, and the wiring harness that runs down the trans tunnel disconnected.
I then setup the trans jack - zipped off the rear subframe bolts - and got started on the torque tube bolts.
I struggled with one of the torque tube bolts into the bell housing because that wire harness was in the way.
After getting that off - I got the torque tube out and the drive train dropped out of the way.
I plugged the brake lines with plugs from my Brembo kit - and a closet wire shelf end cap - saw that suggestion online -and it worked like a charm - no brake leaks here!

So I started off today by getting my fuel system all finished up and reinstalled.
I am glad that the drivetrain was out of the way - it went together so much easier!
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1450/23565802439_3f4a6788cc_b.jpg
I then started on the clutch side of things - I got most of the bell housing bolts off with no big issue except for the bolt right above the starter. I couldn't get at it front the back or side - and the long tube header was in the way.
So I got out my ladder - opened the hood and got the plugs, dipstick, and the header bolts out. I slid it out the bottom of the car after I got down from the ladder.
I got the last bolt out - and the bell housing popped off. I then got the flywheel and pressure plate off.
Thats where I stopped today - I am not sure when I'll get back to it. With the holidays coming up - plus I am still awaiting a few parts from my Amazon order that I put in last week.

So I finally got some time to get back out into the shop - I got the rear main cover on the Corvette replaced. This included new bolts, rear main seal, and the rear cover gasket.
I also got the input bearing removed from the car - I used a slide hammer and bearing removal tool from Autozone - and it came out with 4 or 5 good hits. I then knocked a new input bearing in with a large socket.

I also got a few truck parts for Christmas - I got new fog light assemblies - as well as a new interior light switch. The factory switch was randomly diming at night - and you couldn't see any of the gauges. My factory fogs - one of the lenses is corroded - and the the other has crap inside of the light itself.

I got the LS7 flywheel bolted up - it went in with no issue.
I used ARP bolts to attach it to the crank - and went to install my clutch and realized I didn't have an alignment tool. I went to Autozone and Advance - and neither locations had it in stock. Advance will have it by tomorrow morning - so I will get the clutch disk and pressure plate in tomorrow. I also need to get the new slave cylinder installed - as well as my Tick Performance Speed Bleeder as well.

So Thursday I got the drivetrain back in the car.
I got the new slave cylinder, and the Tick Performance bleeder installed.
I finished the fuel system up, hooked up the brake and transmission lines. I also got my Kooks long tubes back into the engine bay - and bolted down with ARP Hardware.
I had problems with the new GM slave cylinder - the cylinder did not want to slide all the way into the master cylinder - and the retaining clip wouldn't secure it.
There was something wrong with the plastic molding of the slave cylinder - so I ended up taking the retaining clips off the stock 05 unit, and put that onto the new slave cylinder. Everything snapped together and the clips all fit. I am not sure if something changed with the newer slave cylinders - or something is different with the 05's. Either way its all back together.
I still need to get the rest of the exhaust installed, the brakes and clutch bleed - and then some gas thrown in this pig and see if it fires up!

So I got the car back together last night - and attempted to go for a test drive - but the car wouldn't go into reverse.
I took the interior apart and tried to adjust the trans linkage - but it still wouldn't go in. Then I thought about the reverse lockout solenoid - and I didn't remember plugging it back in.
I ended up putting the car back in the air - reached above the trans and felt the plug. I plugged it in - dropped the car back down and reverse worked!
So I went for a test drive and went and got gas. The fuel pump works - and so does both fuel level sensors that I replaced. I got about a half mile from home - and the transmission cooler line popped off and threw ATF all over my long tubes. I got the car pulled over and the smoke cleared out. I didn't have the interior back together and it looked like the scene from Up in Smoke. I was flailing around looking for the block off plate to put back on the trans tunnel.
I got the car home - and the put it back on the lift. I cleaned up the under side and popped the trans cooler line back on.
I went for another test drive - this time with no issues, then I put the interior back together. I still need to wash the car down - and put the rear splash shield in - and go buy more ATF.
No pics of the smoke show - but here is the interior stripped at the gas station:

Yeah - I can see why shops charge $1500 for a clutch job on this car. No way would I want to pay that.
As for that plug - I knew that I should have marked it. I marked all the other ones with painters tape - and when I was getting the driveline back into the car I didn't even see it in the harness.

Long time no update - I got the car back together and noticed a fuel smell.
I let the car sit for a few days and I could definately smell gas coming from the drivers side. I noticed fuel coming down drivers tank - and got to work tearing it apart.
I pulled the mufflers and this gave me plenty of room up there to get the crossover tube off - and drop the tank.
I didn't see any leaks or any holes on the tubes on top of the tank - thats when I noticed the locking ring wasn't fully engaged.
I took that ring off - inspected the fuel pump o-ring and it was fine.
I hit the locking ring a lot harder time - and it fully seated.
I put the tank back in the car - fired it up - and no more gas smell!
Now that the fuel side is done - I am going to get started on the motor work.
I will install my Comp Cams valve springs, replace the front end gaskets - and start on the blower install this weekend.

So I tore into the car today - didn't get too far before I had to quit this evening.
I started my Valve Spring swap today - I got one cylinder done - and have many more to go.
I ended up using the cheaper LS Valve spring tool off ebay - link below:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LSX-LS1-LS2-LS3-LS6-4-8-5-3-6-0-6-2-VALVE-SPRING-COMPRESSOR-TOOL-HOSE-COMBO-/331742201891?hash=item4d3d604823:g:56MAAOSw~gRV4Q1 3&item=331742201891&vxp=mtr
Quality seems decent - and I'll be able to get the rest of the springs swapped with no issue.
I am upgrading to Comp Cams 26918's since my CNC ported L92's have L76/Truck valve springs on them - and I don't want to see any valve float when I throw some boost at them.

I finished up the the Valve spring upgrade on the Passenger side tonight - went well until the Valve Spring tool bolt started to strip out.
I don't know if I was tightening it too hard or what - but I was just using hand tools and the nut locked up on the threads and called them.
I ended up using a bunch of washers to cover up the stripped part - and I finished the side. I contacted the seller and he is sending me another bolt/nut.
I will start on the driver side when I get the replacement parts - now for a pic:

I finally completed a project!
I ran into missing parts, stripped bolt, bad manufacturing all on this Valve spring project.
I had 4 different orders/warranty items from Comp Cams - I ordered everything on Monday/Tuesday - and I got everything in 2 days.
I finished up the valve springs on the drivers side - and I drained the radiator and pulled the water pump. The steering rack is halfway out. Once I get the PS pump and bracket off the front of the engine - I'll be able to finish pulling the rack. Then I can replace the front seals, pin the crank, and install my ARP crank pulley bolt. Hopefully I'll get some of that done this weekend.
I also scheduled my dyno date for March 14th - so I need to get cracking on all of this stuff.

I made a lot of progress in the last 2 days.
Yesterday I got the crank pulley off, pulled the front timing cover.
I then put new seals and gaskets on the timing cover and put it back together.
Tonight I torqued the crank pulley bolt - then removed it.
I used the Edelbrock pinning kit to drill into the crank, and then bore out the hole with the reaming tool.
I cleaned up the holes - and inserted the pin.
I then used my ARP crank bolt - lubed it up - and torqued it down.
I am finally done with this round of mods - time to start putting everything back together.

Here's a tip for you. Set the balancer in place somewhat, to center the timing cover, before you tighten the cover bolts. This will eliminate the chance of the front seal leaking again.

Tonight I drained the oil, removed the filter, and took out the old oil lines.
The oil cooler came out pretty easily - and wasn't too big of a deal. If the car wasn't torn apart - and the steering rack wasn't in the way - I'm sure it would be a lot harder to remove.
I got the new oil cooler in - the lines hooked up to the radiator.
I also got the steering rack back into place - well almost. I need to get the PS pump and ABS box out of the way - and it should go back into place.
Just have to hookup the PS equipment, the water pump - and put the belts back on. I hope to get it back together and running this weekend. I really want to put some miles on the clutch before it gets flogged on the dyno.

Quick update - I got the top engine plate swapped for the Edelbrock one.
I installed the Edelbrock cast tensioner bracket, the new tensioner, and the cast idler bracket that bolts to the water pump.
I also pulled the Power Steering Reservoir - and removed the GM bracket - and swapped that for the Edelbrock bracket. It moves the reservoir more towards the drivers side of the engine bay.
Also - my 3.25" pulley came in - so I should be running about 8-9.5 PSI when I get the car tuned.
I still need to pull the bumper - install the intercooler, the brackets for the IC pump, and the blower itself.
I will probably pull the bumper tomorrow and get started on all of that.

Quick update - got the front end tore off the car - so that I can run the intercooler, the IC pump, and the hoses for it. I'll start on that project tomorrow.
I also had to make a tool to tighten up the water pump bolts. The Edelbrock kit uses a bracket that ties into the passenger side water pump bolts - and there hardware is a 6MM Hex head. My standard length H6 socket wouldn't fit in the bracket - so I went to Lowes and got an H6 6" socket - I ended up cutting probably 4" or so off of the socket - and hit each side with my angle grinder until it fit. You could pull the fan out of the car - and it might fit but I needed a tool incase I needed an emergency fix - I will not pull the fan every time I need to pull the water pump. I know I ruined the hardened steel by cutting it - but those WP bolts only go to 18-22 ft lbs and it tightened them with no issue.

That is todays update.
I got the coolant drained - and replaced that leaking T-stat gasket.
I then tried to fire the car up - it fires up - and dies right away.
So I know its getting fuel, and spark. But its on the stock tune - and the MAP sensor is now a 2 bar Ford map sensor - and the MAF is now an LS3 unit. There is no hope of the car running without getting it tuned.
I spoke with my tuner - and they recommended I upgrade my injectors as the 60 lb / hr wouldn't keep up with all the mods that I have done to the motor - so I have a set of those on the way.
I also swapped out the stock 3.875" pulley to a 3.25" pulley - as I am going to lose boost with the ported heads and the long tubes. After dropping down the pulley size - I looked and saw the belt now rubbing on the water pump. I called Edelbrock and the recommended a 101.7" length belt.
Doing some research I found that Edelbrock redesigned there tensioner cast aluminum bracket - as well as upgraded the tensioner itself. Since I am a bit over a week away - I found there upgrade kit and ordered it on Amazon - and I ordered that belt size.
The Edelbrock kit/belt should get here on Sunday.
So pending everything arrives next week - I need to:
Install new injectors.
Install new Edelbrock tensioner/belt.
Install new PS tank and hose.
Adjust rubbing exhaust.
Adjust front coilovers - might need to raise them with the added weight of the blower.
Now for teh pics:

So I finished up the blower install last week.
I put the 3.25" pulley on there - and installed a 102.5" belt along with the new Edelbrock tensioner - everything fit great.
I also installed the new 95 lb / hr injectors.
My Power Steering tank and hose came in yesterday - and I got those installed today.
I refilled the tank - and back the car outside by hand. I got it half way turned around in my driveway and realized I couldn't push it anymore.
So for sh*ts and giggles I turned on the car - it fired up right away and the 15 feet I had to back it up and do a 3 point turn - it ran just fine.
I'm not going to risk it - so I have a tow truck coming in the morning to take it to the tuner.
I finalized the install today - zip tied a few wires out of the way and finished everything up.
I also ordered a set of Holley LS Valve covers that look sweet. It will clean up the engine bay - and get rid of those goofy Edelbrock fuel rail covers (that fit like sh*t too)!
I'll report later on what the final dyno numbers are.

This morning I had the Vette towed to PCM of NC - they are going to dyno tune it over the next couple of days. I should get it back by Wed.
Also - I finally got the proper length pipe for my cheap foam cannon. The thread on the pipe is BST - and I had to order it from McMaster Carr - as I couldn't find any other vendors that carried it.
I tested out the cannon with some cheap Armor All generic car soap - and it worked great.

I am pretty impressed - as I had no idea what it would put down.
I should get the car Friday morning - I'll post initial thoughts.

I'll be with Metrolina Corvettes next month at Autofair.
We are scheduled to be under the stands up top.
I've dynoed the car 3x in the past - these are at the rear wheel:
375 hp - mostly bolt ons.
450 hp - cam / CNC heads, long tube headers, LS3 intake, injectors + tune.
580 hp - blower / Edelbrock CAI / injectors + tune.

Thanks man!
Yep - the block is LS2 everything from the crank up is different.
LS9 Cam
LS7 Lifters
CNC LS3 heads
E-Force LS3 kit
I got the car back today - and holycrap is it fast!
I really hated how the power band moved up with the LS9 cam - its nice to have that low end torque again!
Initial thoughts - need to be more careful gunning the car - even with new 345's it wants to kick out.
Also - the blower is quiet as hell - or its my loud ass exhaust, you can't hear it at all!

I finally finished up this swap - I installed my Holley LS valve covers, and took off my factory coil packs and painted them.
I love the look of the covers and the coil packs - so much better then the Edelbrock covers that didn't fit.

After I got my car back from the dyno - I noticed that the drivers seat stopped moving back and forward.
The memory seat buttons wouldn't make the seat move either.
Then I tested the seat buttons without any weight in the seat - and they worked fine.
Come to find out the wire harness connecting to the seat module had stretched and with weight on it - caused the motor to not get its signal from the module.
Apparently this is a common problem with the C6 - so I ordered a new pigtail harness from Amazon - and pulled the seat out.
Removing the pig tail from the module - I found the wire completely snapped off from the plug. So I cut the plug off - stripped back the wiring.
I soldered in one of the wires and that took forever. I started on the second wire - and my cheap HF soldering iron died.
A quick trip to Lowe's and I bought a real soldering gun - I got the other wire done in like 5 minutes.
I put the seat back in the car - and everything works again!

Truck update:
I just finished up my last project on this truck.
My rear bumper has been shot since day one - the chrome was stained and it was rusting from the inside out. I looked into aftermarket bumpers - and they just weren't for me.
I saw someone put at 2014+ 1500 rear bumper on a NBS 1500 series truck and I really liked it.
I picked up a work truck model 2014+ rear bumper for cheap on ebay ~$250. It is flat black, has no sensors in it, and was supposed to bolt right up to a 1500.
I got the bumper in a few days - and stripped it down.
It had a few scratches in it - but I sanded and smoothed them out - and primed, base coat, and clear coated the rear bumper ~$40 in materials.
I got the bumper back together and tried to put it on the truck - it bolted right up but I had a huge gap between the bumper and the bed.
I thought that would happen - so I ordered a set of 2015+ 2500 HD brackets - and while the bolted to the bumper they would not bolt to the frame as the bolt holes are in different locations and the hardware setup is different. I mocked them up in the rear frame rails - and the bumper sat in the same exact location as the 1500 brackets!
So I decided to go back to the 1500 brackets - and send the 2500 bumper brackets back.
On the frame rails - I made the top hole for the bumper bracket the new bottom hole. I drilled a hole in the frame 2" above the old top hole. I also drilled another hole for the most forward hole in the frame rail 2" above the old location.
This moved the entire assembly up. I then painted the new holes in the frame rail and bolted everything up. I also moved over the wire harness for the rear plate lights, and the locking spare tire access port over from the old bumper.
For less then $300 I got a new rear bumper that isn't jacked up.

Ever since I put those Holley valve covers on - I have been having problems with losing oil/a huge cloud of smoke billowing out of the car on cold start up.
I did some research and the Holley covers like to suck oil through the drivers side valve cover right into the blower.
I am sure on a N/A setup - they would work great, but after loosing a quart of oil in a weekend - I had enough.
I ripped them off and ordered a set of LS9 valve covers.
These are built for boost - and give off the same look of no coil pack brackets.
For now I put the stock covers back on - and have not had an issue. No oil consumption, no huge clouds of white smoke on startup, etc.
I got the covers a few days ago - and have painted them black like the Holley covers.
I'll put them on the car after they cure for a couple days.
I also ordered a catch can - and will install that along with the covers.
This should resolve my oil consumption issues - and give me the look that I am after.
At the end of the month I will be towing the car up to VA for the Wannagofast 1/2 mile event up there - my shirt just came in today.

These new covers should help out - after losing that quart of oil in 60 miles or so - I had enough and went back to stock.
Sucks having to go through different parts to resolve your issues.
One plus side is that the LS9 covers have the newer PCV vents on them -and allows the E-Force PCV valves to snap and lock on to them.
The Holleys and LS2 covers didn't allow that fitting to work - so I had to remove them. This will make for a more clean setup.

I got the LS9 valve covers installed - as well as my Elite Engineering Catch Can.
I ended up having to order the oil fill tube for an LSA engine as the LS2 one will not clip in because the LS9 valve covers have an extra tab inside the cover - and they moved the tabs as well.
I am still waiting on some 90* fittings from Edelbrock - this will allow the PCV hoses to snap into the LS9 valve covers - as they are designed to clip in to them.
I am also waiting for a straight barb on the catch can - it currently has a 90* fitting on there making the PCV hose wrap around the can.
Once those come in - I will trim the hoses to the proper length and clean everything up.

I finally got the PCV system finished up.
My 90* elbows came in from Edelbrock - I had to order them through Summit Racing and it ended up being a custom order.
These 90's snap right into the LS9 valve covers - and cleans up the PCV hose routing a lot.
Also - after adding the catch can I went on a 30 mile drive. I got home and filled up the can.
I added a PCV valve between the drivers rear port and the can. I went on the same drive - and there was barely anything inside the catch can.
So I think I got the oiling issue resolved.
As for the half mile event this weekend - I've done a bunch of work on the truck to get it ready to tow the Vette up to VA.
I added a trailer brake, discovered that the rear U joint was cracked - so had that replaced and the DS rebalanced, replaced the the transfer case fluid, and got an alignment and ended up having to replace one of the batteries. So after all this work - i should be good to go.

So the Wannagofast event didn't happen on Saturday.
I ended up having issues with my trailer that I had rented. I got home with the trailer and noticed one of the ramps was missing. I fought for a couple hours with all of my boards and race ramps at the house - and couldn't make up for that missing ramp. I couldn't get the Vette onto the trailer without screwing up the front bumper. I took the trailer back and got my money back - so I had thrown in the towel for the event on Saturday.
I slept in and started seeing all the Fog emails/FB pics up in the VA mountains.
They ended up not running at all that day - here is a pic that a friend of mine took.
I am glad I had the trailer issues - it saved me a 10 hour drive and I didn't have to get up at 4am.

So my truck steering column has been whistling for a long time now. When stopped at a light or stop sign - there was a very audible whistle coming from the PS system. If you turned the wheel slightly - it'd shut up.
So after dealing with that for way too long - I ordered a new GM pump - and PS lines.
I tore the truck apart - and got the new parts swapped in.
The swap took 2 nights after work - but I finally finished up.
I put in new PS fluid - turned the wheels side to side and I'm good to go.
I still need to flush out the system - but that can wait for another day.
I did have to rent the PS pulley remover/installer tool from Autozone for this swap - but otherwise it wasn't too terrible.

Quick update:
After I was tracking down a leak on the PS setup - I saw that my bull bar was was looking like crap.
I took the 4 bolts off - and removed it. I really like the looks of it without the bar on there.
I also decided to ditch the Bro-Truck billet grill. I removed it but the plastic grill underneath looks like crap.
So I painted it with SEM Trim black paint - and will put it back in when it finishes drying.
I also installed the LBZ mouthpiece and updated my 10+ year old cold air intake.
The truck came with an AFE Magnum Force intake - which doesn't look like it has been in production for a long time.
So I found a Spectre Diesel filter that fit in the AFE box - and put in the LBZ part.
I can't say I feel a huge difference - but removing a big restriction in the air path has to help.

Back to the Vette!
I saw that some folks are using the Halltech Beehive intake shroud with there E-Force cold air intakes.
It lowers IAT's by isolating the filter from the hot engine bay.
So I ordered one - and had to modify it because of the front intercooler heat exchanger piping on the passenger side.
After a few cuts with a jigsaw - and trial fitting it - I finished up the install. I also hid the MAF sensor wire under the filter so that its no longer visable.
I went on test drive and had no issue - as I pulled into the driveway I smelled coolant.
I popped open the hood - and saw a cut in the coolant hose connecting the heater core > water pump > coolant expansion tank reservoir.
I must have moved the hose when I was installing the intake - and didn't check for clearance before my test drive.
I sliced the hose - and sprung a tiny leak. I cleaned up the engine bay and I have ordered a new hose. It wasn't super expensive - but a dumb mistake.
I will probably be replacing the hose sometime next week - I don't think it will arrive quickly.

SS update...
The SS comes with a lot of chrome on it - both on the exterior and interior.
I have already deleted the chrome on the front of the car - but not the interior.
I just finished up removing and installing the following Holden black trim parts.
Touch Screen Navigation surround.
Shifter surround.
Bottom half of the steering wheel trim.
Install was fairly painless - just took the time to be careful and not break anything.
I have to say - it looks way better.
I got these Holden parts from HoldenPartsUSA in California - and I got them in 3 days to NC. That sure beats shipping from down under.
Here are some finished pics:

Hey guys - been a while - but I'm still around.
Things have been busy around here - I've been busy shooting/producing/and uploading some videos to my Youtube channel. If you are interested in seeing the updates to the truck, SS, Vette, and around the shop - you can see them here:
https://www.youtube.com/user/bonecrrusherSS
Besides that - I finally got the exhaust for my Duramax.
This spring I ordered a Corsa front pipe - and got it in a few days.
Back in May - I tried to order a Corsa catback. The supplier took 5 weeks to tell me that it was on back order, and then discontinued. So I got my money back. Then in early July - I called Corsa directly and asked if they still sold there diesel mufflers - they said yes it was a valid number and still available. So I ordered just the muffler - and a Jamo 4" stainless exhaust. The catback w/ muffler delete showed up - but the muffler was on backorder. 6 more weeks the supplier called me and said it was on backorder and then discontinued.
At this point I got fed up - and did some research. I found a company called FTE Diesel based out of Ohio - and they sold a 30" x 4" resonator/muffler that cuts down on drone. A lot of Cummins guys and a few Duramax guys recommended these mufflers - so I placed an order for a stainless unit.
I got the muffler in a few days and I installed the exhaust this week.
Overall the install went smoothly - and I am fairly happy. It's louder at idle, and when you gas it - and it quiets down when cruising on the interstate.
Here are some pics - I'll post a video in a few days.

I finally had some free time to take the Corvette out - and beat on it.
2 weeks ago - the local 1/4 mile drag strip was open. Zmax is never open for Test and Tune - but they where open one night for the Nascar shops - so I went racing with them.
I got 3 runs in - and managed not to break the car.
My times where:
13.1 @ 111
13.7 @ 115
13.5 @ 121
I didn't launch the car hard off the line - I barely have 1k miles on the clutch. I rolled into the throttle and screwed up the 1-2 shift twice.
My video of the runs:
2vZF_Zeqhr0
Last weekend I was able to go autocrossing finally.
I autocrossed with the local CCR-SCCA chapter - and went autocrossing in the big parking lot at Zmax Dragway.
I was in the first run group - and on my first run - it was only 54* outside. On the last turn of my run - I gassed it to hard and ended up kicking the rear end out and I slid right into the timing box.
This ended up cracking my side splitter in 3 spots - but luckily the door and rest of the car where fine. There is a small scratch in the clear coat on the door - that will probably buff out.
My times for the day where:
Run 1: 95.752
Run 2: 90.086
Run 3: 90.022
Run 4: 86.403
I managed to drop time each run - I just wish we had one or 2 more runs and I might have been able to drop more time.

Long time no update!
A few weeks back I took the Corvette out on Charlotte Motor Speedway for their charity laps. I drove for one session - and rode along in my buddies new Z06 for the second session.
I ran into a lot of traffic on the session that I drove - here is some footage from my laps:

SS Update:
I have had the V wheels on the SS for well over a year now - and I have never really been happy with the center caps that I put on there. I had a set of ACE Wheel center caps leftover from the Zr1 replicas that I had on my C6. I had plastidipped them and put them on.
They looked alright - but I wanted something new. I happened to find out the 6th Gen Camaro center caps are the same as the C6/C7/V - and so I ordered a new set of "SS" center caps for the new Camaro. I got them in a few days and really like them.

I just finished updating the front end of the truck.
I had installed the 2014+ 1500 rear bumper on my truck - but I always felt that I need to do something about the front.
So I looked at my setup - chrome 2500 grill, billet bro truck grill, and the red GMC logo.
I already blacked out the billet grill as I posted earlier - but I wanted to change the front end of the truck.
I wanted my 2500 to look like the midnight/black series that the current trucks are doing.
So I picked up a 1500 GMC work truck grill and decided to paint it body color.
I rattle canned the rear bumper and that turned out really well - so I decided to use Duplicolor on the front grill.
I had some paint supplies left over from the bumper project - so I only had to pick up a few cans of paint to paint grill.
I sanded the grill - primed/base/clear coated it - and then wet sanded and buffed it. I think it turned out great!
While I was in there I decided to install the new fog lights that my girlfriend had gotten me like 2 years ago.
After I installed the grill and the fogs - I had to raise the front bumper approximately 2" to fill the gap between the grill and bumper.
I cut the 2500 brackets to clear the frame - and then I added washers/spacers to raise up the mounting points for the bumper and bolted everything together.
Here are some pics of all of the projects - I also removed the GMC logo and plastidipped it black. I think the final product turned out pretty kick ass:

SS Update time!
Back on Black Friday - I saw that a KZ Coatings was offering 25% off powder coating for a set of Brembos calipers.
So I placed an order to get a set of Brembo cores powdercoated red for the SS.
While I was waiting for the brakes to come in - I happened to see that the new C7 Z06 Corvettes (Non CCB) are the same front brake calipers as the 09-13 CTS-V and the first gen ZL1's. What makes the C7Z different from the V/ZL1 are the pistons within the caliper themselves. The calipers on the Z are vented - vs your traditional brake piston. These vents supposedly drop brake temperatures by 90* F.
I figured since the brakes are torn apart - I might as well do the upgrade since I'm in there. I worked with KZ coatings - and ordered the upgraded pistons from RockAuto and had them shipped there.
The Part Numbers are:
C7 Z06 Vented Stainless Caliper Pistons: 23242510
KZ assembled the calipers with the new vented Z pistons - and shipped them my way. The install went pretty quick as I had already done this upgrade once - everything bolted on.
After bleeding the brakes and going for a test drive - I packaged up my silver brembos and sent them back to KZ and got my core refund back.

To start the build of my SS - I picked up a set of Kooks 1 7/8" Long Tube Headers.
I picked these up on Cyber Monday 2 years ago - and spent less then $600 for the long tubes.
I've had these sitting for awhile because I was busy with the E-Force install on the Corvette.
That has been finished up - and its time to start this winters project.
These headers are stainless steel - and a vast improvement over the stock restrictive exhaust manifolds.
The install was pretty straight forward - remove the stock air intake, remove the coil packs/spark plugs/spark plug wires - and you will have plenty of room to get the stock parts out.
Remove the exhaust manifolds by starting at the bottom - remove the factory catback pipes.
Remove the O2 sensors - and then go back to the top of the car.
Remove the exhaust manifold bolts and let the exhaust manifold rest on the frame/motor mounts.
Get back under the car - and pull the stock manifolds out.
While still under the car slide up the Kooks headers from the bottom - let them rest on the frame/engine mounts.
Go back to the top of the car - grab the headers and put in one bolt to allow you to mock them into place.
After you get the headers in place - install the gaskets - install the rest of the bolts and you will be done.
Install the O2 sensors - and whatever catback you go with - and you will be good to go!

After I installed a set of Kooks Long Tube headers on the SS - I needed a way to connect my headers to the Corsa Catback. To accomplish this, I welded in a set of High Flow Cats to my Kooks/Corsa connection pipes.
I used a set of Offroad J-pipes from Kooks for a Pontiac G8.
When used on the SS - they are 3" short so I needed to added in 3" of pipe.
To make up the difference I cut a few inches out of each J pipe - and added in the high flow cats.
I cut the J pipes in 2 - removed a few inches - and then added in the cats. I then took these assemblies to the car - and tacked everything together after I tightened down the front and rear hardware.
After getting everything mocked up - I removed the pipes/cats - fully welded them on the table - and then cleaned up the welds.
I installed the finished pipes, installed the O2 sensors - and the project was finished.

I'm in the middle of the latest project for the SS - adding an LSA Supercharger! I will be updating this thread with the latest updates from the install.
I picked up this LSA blower for really cheap - all that it needs is a new isolator coupler.
This blower is the start of a budget build for my SS - I'll be using a mix of new/used parts.
My goal is to have an affordable supercharged cruiser.
This supercharger came off of a Camaro ZL1 - the original owner had complained about the supercharger being noisy. So GM removed the blower and replaced it - without tearing down this one.
All that was wrong with this supercharger is the isolator coupler inside of the blower.
After replacing the coupler - it will be good as new!
I also picked up a new ZL1 lid for the LSA swap for Summit Racing. I wish I had gotten it a few years ago as the price almost doubled for the swap.
I am going to break down the lid and send the coolant intake manifold out to be modified.
Once the manifold gets back - it will have two -12 AN fittings tig welded to it.
I plan on running -12 AN lines for the coolant system and get rid of the ugly GM plastic piping.

The next step in Supercharging the SS - is to reassemble the ZL1 lid. I tore the lid down previously to send the intercooler coolant manifold out to get modified. I sent the manifold out to a shop to have two -12 AN fittings Tig welded to it - that way I could use the AN fittings and lines for the intercooler coolant system.
I did not want to use the stock GM plastic pieces - they will get brittle over time - and look terrible.
To help the manifold blend in with the rest of the ZL1 setup - I cleaned up the manifold after I got it back from the shop - and primed/painted it. This way the AN fittings, the manifold itself, and the ZL1 lid are all black.
After everything dried - I fully assembled the manifold, the AN fittings, and put the intercooler brick back inside of the ZL1 lid.

In order to start the LSA install - I first need to start preparing the blower.
I removed the factory ZL1 boost control solenoid - this sensor is not used in the SS application. It needs to be unplugged, the vaccum port tubes attached to it need to be removed as well. Take out the 10mm bolt - and your are good to go.
I also readjusted the boost control valve inside the supercharger. By loosening the 2 10mm bolts on the outside of the blower - and angling the valve assembled toward the firewall - this ensures that the valve is fully closed. By fully closing the boost bypass valve - you will gain up to an extra 1.5 PSI which will be good an additional 15 whp or so.
I also identified what ports need to be plugged - and which way to route the vaccum ports connecting the blower bypass valve - the supercharger - and the blower snout.
I also installed the fuel evap sensor on the front of the blower - and tightened it down with the 10mm bolt.

The next part of my install - was prepping and painting the LSA/LS9 valve covers.
I had used a set of Holley LS valve covers on my E-Force install on the Corvette - and I had nothing but issues with them.
I had PCV/oiling issues since the E-Force eliminated the valley port vent - and made you use the drivers side rear port vent for the new PCV routing.
This lead to a lot of oil getting sucked up through the Holley valve cover - and went straight into the blower. The Holleys did not have a built in check valve - and this contributed to the oiling issue.
The Holley Valve covers also leaked oil out of the center bolt holes - as well as the perimeter gaskets as well.
This lead me to return the Holleys and go with the LSA/LS9 valve covers.
I prepped and painted the valve covers - and added a check valve/catch can on the Corvette and this solved all of my pcv/oiling issues.
Since I did not want to repeat/have any of those issues on the SS - I bought another set of LSA/LS9 valve covers.
I tore the new valve covers down, cleaned up the outer surface - and then painted them with VHT Engine primer and then VHT GM Flat Black Engine Paint.
It took 3 coats of primer - 2 light coats, 1 heavy coat and I was ready to paint. It took 3 coats of base - again 2 light and 1 heavy coat.

I have finally started the install!
I begin the tear down by removing the factory LS3 intake, LS3 fuel rail/injectors - and TB. This didn't take too long as you really only need one special tool - the fuel line quick disconnect tool - and a set of sockets and ratchets to remove the fuel rail, tb, and the intake manifold itself.
Then I started with the lower blower housing - installed the bolts and torqued to spec.
Then I installed the ZL1 lid/intercooler housing - and torqued to spec.
I finished off the day by installing the fuel injectors, fuel rail, brake booster vacuum hose, TB, and the fuel evap purge solenoid.
When I started out - I only meant to mock up the blower itself - but in the end I almost finished up the entire install!

To continue with the blower install - I installed the STG Motorsports custom front heat exchanger.
I was originally going to go with the ZL1 heat exchanger - and it would have bolted up with some custom bracing - I would have had to move a bunch of sh*t to get it to work.
I would have had to move the transmission cooler - as well as move the windshield tank container.
I installed the CTS-V style intercooler pump - as well as ran the Magnuson IC pump wiring harness.
I installed the LSA front accessory drive - this includes the LSA crank pulley, LSA idler bracket, and the LSA tensioner.
I also pinned the LSA crank pulley - and installed an ARP crank bolt/LSA supercharger belt.

To continue with the LSA install - I needed to come up with an air intake.
Using a few pieces from Spectre - I came up with a design that would go into the fender well where the stock intake routed.
I pieced this kit together using Spectre 4" intake parts - and it went in really easy.
I got this setup for about $150 - and it worked perfectly.
You can go aftermarket - but companies want $400+ for a box setup - that you have to modify!
Your going to end up spending close to $500 for a poor performing intake!
So for the little $$ investment that I have - I am more then happy with the outcome.

I installed an Elite Engineering Catch can on my LSA Supercharged SS.
The install is pretty straight forward - I had to cut the lines to the length that I needed, then assemble the AN fittings - and tighten everything down.
The catch can intstalls between the Blower and the Valley vent tube.
This catch can should help catch any oil coming from the engine and going back into the system by being trapped before the blower snout.
I also instaledl the PCV system - using the ZL1 PCV tube - I connected the drivers rear port, the passenger front port - and connect to the intake tube.
I added a check valve - and plugged this into the 90* Spectre intake hose before the throttlebody. I then plugged in the ZL1 PCV tube into the check valve.
I also fired up the car for the first time! Sort of - the car won't hold an idle with the bigger injectors, new MAP sensor, as well as the Corvette style MAF sensor.

Latest update on the SS - I installed the LED DRL harness from Gen5DIY.com.
This harness allows you to enable the DRL LED's to run all the time.
They will run with the low/high beams on - and even work when the foglights are on.
The install is pretty straight forward - take off the front bumper off of the car. Unplug the foglight/drl sub-harness from the bumper - and install the Gen5 harness - the plug the sub-harness back in.
Run the Gen5 wiring through the bumper - passed the radiator - and up to the fuse box.
Take off the fuse box cover - and remove the 20 amp fuse in slot #51. Plug in the Gen5 Add-A-Fuse plug into slot #51.
Trim the box and the cover to allow the harness to lay flat - and put the fuse box cover back on.

I have finally finished the LSA swap on the SS - in this video I get the car towed up to PCM of NC for its dyno tune.
Dyno results where 553 rwhp on a DynoJet chassis dyno.
That was at 7.8 PSI.
I am very impressed with these dyno numbers - honestly I was really only expecting around 500 whp.
The 60 #/hr injections that I installed are at their limit though - so if I go with a smaller pulley or any other mods - I will need a fuel system.
I drove the car back from the shop with no issue - and I am very happy with the results.

Latest update for the SS - I installed my custom build plate that I modified and had made by Signs.com.
I downloaded the 2014 template from the following thread on the SS Forums:
http://www.ssforums.com/forum/exterio...
I updated the template with the information that I received from Chevy Customer Service - and then I modified the template by finding the various logos and putting them in the template.
The template is a .PNG image file that I modified used Photoshop.
I used a transparent background - copied and pasted the black and white logos into - and deleted the white text.
This gave me a black and transparent image that I pasted into the template.
The sign was $23+ shipping from Signs.Com - and it took about week to get.
The install was fairly simple - just drill 4 holes in the sign, and the fuse box cover - and use 4 screws to install it.

I have driven the Supercharged SS almost 500 miles - so I decided to do some maintenance and various systems check on the car.
I checked the oil catch can - saw a bit of oil in it - and I emptied it out.
I was checking to make sure that it wasn't full - and wasn't pulling oil back into the blower or the #Spectre Intake.
I also took the custom #Spectre intake system apart - and adjusted the MAF sensor as well as the cone filter.
When I hastily swapped the MAF sensors at the dyno shops parking lot - I didn't do a very good job lining everything up.
After a few adjustments - the intake looks good again!

I've had a few people ask about my MaxJax - and lifting my lowered Corvette on to it.
Since the Corvette is so low - I had to find a way to get the arms under the car.
I do this by driving up on a set of Race Ramps Scale Weight Ramps, lift the back of the car with a floor jack, then put another set of scale weight ramps under the rear.
This gives me enough room to get up and under the car - and raise it with the MaxJax lift.

I took the Corvette up to a no prep test and tune at Zmax Dragway.
This is the first time that Zmax was open for the public this year. For the street tire guys - the 2 left lanes where not prepped at all.
The car spun through first and second - and I could not hook up at all.
The car ran terrible times on street tires. Next time I am going to get the drag radials mounted - and run on the prepped lanes.
To view all of runs - please watch the video below:

To counteract the spinning through 1st and Second - I decided to buy a set of drag radials and wheels.
I test fit a front C6 Z06 wheel on the back of the SS and the Corvette.
The wheel is 18x9.5 and is a 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern.
I plan on running a set of 305/35/18 Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials in the back.

I had to drop the fuel tank/fuel system on my C6 Corvette to install the z06 fuel pump.
Dropping the drivers tank is a total pain in this car - I had to drop the tank 3 times because of various issues.
The final time - I actually droped the torque tube/transmission/rear diff to get enough room to get to the tank - and the crossover tube.
I ended up snapping the plastic lines inside the tank - and had to replace those.

I was having issues with my fuel tank system - and wanted to make dropping the fuel tank easier.
I decided to drop the transaxle out of the car - and with that gone - I was able to not only fix the fuel system - but I also decided to upgrade the clutch while I was in there.
The stock LS2 clutch only had 50k miles on it - but I decided to upgrade to the LS7 clutch while it was apart.
With the car torn apart - I also replaced the throwout bearing/slave cylinder, and installed a Tick Performance Speed Bleeder while I was in there.

I got rid of the last chrome parts on the outside of the car.
I looked into several options including painting the handles, wrapping them, and replacing them with non chrome Caprice PPV handles.
Replacing/painting the handles was going to be several hundreds of dollars - so I decided to wrap them in 3M vinyl.
To wrap the handles - all you have to do is clean the handles off - and get started.
Cut the vinyl to the length that you need - place it on the handle - and use you finger name to push in the edges where you are going to cut.
Use a sharp blade and cut the vinyl out - then remove the excess.
Cut the chrome button - and now you are done.

I finally got the Mickey Thompson Drag Radials installed on the C6 Z06 front wheel.
I test fit the wheels - and the clear both the SS and the Corvette with no major issue.
The 305's stick out of the back of the SS a good bit - but they fit under the Corvette with no issue.
The 305 is a bit large for the SS and a bit undersized for the Corvette - but this was the comprise that I have to deal with to fit on set of drag wheels/tires on 2 cars.

The Allison transmission in my truck overheated. I tried to fix it by replacing all of the fluid, both transmission filters, and upgraded to the deeper Allison transmission pan - but it still was running warm.
I decided to buy the Mike L transmission cooler - and install it.
After I installed the new cooler - my transmission temps dropped by 30* and I have not had an issue in 2+ years.

In my latest project/video - I go over on how to add factory bluetooth to your Sierra/Silverado.
You will need the VCIM computer out of a 2009 TrailBlazer to swap into your car. You will also need the Bluetooth Anttena that attaches to the VCIM .
You will need to remove the top of the dash to get to the VCIM box, and fabricate your own bracket to mount it to the dash.
Plug everything in - and you will be good to go.

In my latest video - I start to tackle another issue with my truck.
I had been getting a Service Airbag System warning light on the dash - as well as the Drivers Information Center.
I did some research - and it turns out that these trucks and the SUV's of the same era like to have front impact sensors that go bad.
The sensors like to corrode because they are under the truck in the harsh weather conditions.
To fix this error - you need to disconnect both batteries, drop the skid plate, and replace the Front Impact sensor.

As part of the build - I am going to add an E85 tune to the car - but I want to be able to still run pump gas.
So in order for this to work - I picked up a flex fuel sensor from DSX tuning - and installed it.

In this video I go over cutting/creating the new fuel lines for the build.
I used -8 PTFE Hose for the fuel system - while this hose is a bit harder to setup - I won't have the gas vapor smell that happens with traditional stainless braided rubber hose - plus E85 won't break down this hose type.

I went to Corvettes at Carlisle this year looking for one part.
The part that I was looking for was a ZR1 hood.
A buddy of mine bought one of those hoods and put it on his Vette - and I thought it looked awesome.
So to help with aero and ventillation - I picked up a ZR1 hood and an ACS vented hood insert.
Also the ZR1 hood is made out of Carbon Fiber and is 1/3 the weight of the factory hood - so dropping some weight up front can't hurt either.

I installed a Roto-Fab Radiator Cover for my Chevy SS.
If I had a stock SS - this would bolt on with no issue - but since I have an LSA supercharger, and a custom intake - the stock Roto-Fab radiator cover will not fit.
I ordered the bare cover - and notched it for my oil catch can.
I then primed and painted and installed the Roto-Fab Radiator Cover.

Side note: There is more chassis noise transmitted through the car.

I've gone on a few test drives now - and holycrap there is a ton of noise!
I've filmed it but it doesn't do the extra sound justice.
I will say this - there is no more slop between shifting gears - and it feels way more solid!

I know everyone has been wanting to see what this car will now run in the 1/4.
I took the Corvette over to Zmax Dragway for a Test and Tune - and my first run was only 1/10th off my fastest time last year!
I then ran 3 best ET's ever - all back to back to back.
The last run of the night - I ended up spinning the tires and called it a night.
You will also see in the video my IAT times - please check out the video below for more details!

Hello everyone!
In today's update we pick up a set CTS Spares - and test fit them on the Corvette/SS - and see if they will work out at a set of front skinnies.

One more update for today!
I've had an adjustable suspension for a long time - besides adjusting ride height - I had never taken advantage of the adjustability of the system.
Following the manufactures settings for the coilovers - and the swaybars - I adjust the suspension setup in the video below:

Hello everyone - I have two updates for this week.
First - I have had really bad peeling headlights for a few years now - especially on the passenger side. The drivers side also has a nice rock chip as well.
So I picked up a set of Moriomoto LED headlights from Vette Lights.
Here is the install for the new headlights"
O6wP0KyxPlk
Second - I was up underneath a friends C6 Z06 and discovered that I was missing a cooling baffle that the wide body Corvettes came with.
My wide body conversion was done several years ago - and the parts supplier that I ordered the kit from didn't include the baffle - so I never knew it was missing or that the piece even existed.
In the video below - I fix the aero/cooling by installing that baffle.

Hey guys - it has been far too long since I made an update!
We have a ton of changes/updates for the Corvette - so much so that I'm starting a new build series.
I'm going to call it Build V4.0 - and we are going to have bunch of videos in this new series.
To kick off the series - we picked up a Tow Hook from Phoenix Racing.
This Tow hook is removable - and can be removed when you are not racing.
I picked up this tow hook because one day I am going to need it - and I would rather be able to get the car onto a trailer without screwing up the front end or any of the body panels.
For more information on the install - check out the video below.

The second video in this V4.0 build series - is a manual fan controller.
I decided to pickup the Caspers Manual Fan Controller - so that I would be able to turn the fan on low/high when I am sitting in the staging lanes so that we can cool down the car.
When I ran my fastest time last year - my IAT's had dropped nearly 50* from the other runs - and that was just due to letting the car sit and cool down for a long while (about an hour or so).
So to help speed up this process - I picked up the Caspers Fan Controller.

In the third video of the Corvette upgrade series - we install a custom belly pan.
This is to help improve the aerodynamics under the car - as the C6 Corvette does not have any type of belly pan.
Using some 1/4 plastic from a local supplier - I cut out and install a custom belly pan.
For more details - check out the video below.

In the 4th episode of this Corvette upgrade series - I decided to upgrade the slave cylinder by adding a Tick Performance Slave Cylinder Brace.
Since I was going to have to replace the clutch soon anyways - this turned out to be the perfect time to add this slave cylinder brace.

As mentioned in the previous post - I was going to be installing a new clutch.
The car is making 650 rwhp with the E-Force supercharger - and E85.
The last time I took the car to the drag strip - I overpowered the LS7 clutch and the car basically fried the clutch in the first two gears.
The LS7 clutch - while strong and affordable - obviously has it limits.
So I decided to go with a Mcleod RXT Twin Disk - now these clutches are good for 1000 hp - and drive like stock.
In the video below - I go over the install details and get the new twin disk setup.

Since the transmission was going to be out for the clutch install - I decided to install the Anti-Venom mod on the T56.
The Anti-Venom mod it to help reduce the notchiness of an aftermarket shifter - like the MGW shifter that I installed last year.
For a cheap and easy upgrade - it only took a few minutes to install.

Since the drivetrain was going to be out - I decided to tear down the torque tube - and install a Driveshaft Shop Carbon Fiber drive shaft.
I mostly wanted to inspect the factory drive shaft - and the bearings.
The bearings turned out to be - but I wanted to eliminate the weak rubber couplers - so we went with the Carbon Driveshaft that eliminated the rubber pieces.

Since I had to drop the drivetrain for the clutch install - as well as remove the full exhaust.
I decided to take the Kooks headers to a local shop - Calico coatings applied their ceramic coating to the headers.
Hopefully this will help reduce underhood temperatures - and also help lower IAT's as well.

If you guys saw that clutch install video - you will know that I mentioned that I had dropped the transmission.
As I was moving the transaxle into the third bay - my transmission jack caught one of the lines in the concrete driveway and fell over.
When it fell over it smashed the hell out of the Z06 differential cooler - as well as the piping.
Thankfully I had a ZR1 cooler on hand - and was able to replace the parts at no extra cost to me.

I got the transmission, the clutch, and all the drivetrain components installed back in the car.
After fixing up the differential cooler - it was time to move to the powertrain side of the car.
To help make the E-Force more efficient - I decided to install an E-Force Camaro lid to help gain more volume above the intercooler.
Similar to the ZL1 lid swap on the CTS-V - those cars make an additional 20+ HP at the crank just due to a larger supercharger lid.
A member on Corvetteforum did a similiar swap on his Magnuson supercharger - and he picked up an additional 1.5 PSI of boost.
So I reached out to Edelbrock - and purchased the Camaro lid. For more details on the install - please check out the video below:

Alright - I know I have posted a ton of videos today - this will be the last one for today.
We are finally back up to speed on all the updates on the Corvette!
After installing the Camaro lid - and doing some break in driving on the Corvette - I actually blew out the rear main seal - more details on that repair will be in a future video.
To help prevent that from happening again - I picked up an Elite Engineering Clean Side Oil separator.
For more details on that install - check out the video below:

Hello everyone!
In this week's Corvette update - we install a new radiator and cooling fan setup.
With the car having a positive displacement supercharger - the engine cooling system is going to need all the help that it can get.
So a larger capacity all aluminum Mishimoto radiator as well as a set of Prospeed Cooling fans - where installed.

Hello everyone! In today's Corvette update - we open up the front of the E-Force supercharge snout to fit a 102mm TB.
With the larger throttle body - it was necessary to hog out the front of the snout to fit the larger throttle body.

Hello everyone! Another Corvette update for today - we removed the deadhead on the back of the passenger side fuel rail.
To make sure there are no fueling issues in the last cylinder on the passenger side - we add a Y block - and add some -6 AN fuel line to the back of the passenger side.

In todays update - we are going to do a 2 for 1 post!
In this first video we create a new intake for the Corvette.
With the bigger TB - I wanted to remove all restrictions that the Edelbrock setup created.
So I started with a 4.5" bend from Vibrant - and went from there creating a new intake.
For more info please checkout the video below:

In the second video - we take our intake pipe up to Mass Acceleration Motorsports to get the LS7 style MAF sensor bung welded - as well as finalize the intake setup.

Hello everyone - sorry for the long delay- it has been a crazy busy summer.
Picking back up on the Corvette build:
First update - we upgrade the Heat Exchanger water pump on the Corvette - I had the Bosch OEM style pump but those are undersized and underpowered for this application.
So in this episode - we install an EMP Water pump:
8NBtCQSrcOs
Second update:
In a previous episode -we had installed a set of Hinson motor mounts. At the time on the install I didn't realize that they could be prone to failure due to heat - so I picked up a set of Hinson engine mount heat shields - and install them in this episode:
J09oDEqkJPM
Third update:
After we got the car back together - I went for a test drive and ran into a huge problem. I ended up blowing out the rear main seal - and had to tear the car apart and replace it.
t680ZAh4SJM
Last update:
Continuing the problems from the last episode - we ran into a huge problem(s) on the dyno: including fuel pressure drop, a Hobbs switch failure, and a TB failure:
m-T1Qv82dWI
Thats going to be it for the Corvette updates - I actually kicked off a build on the SS - I will post those videos shortly.
I am currently working on the Corvette right now - and will get back to posting videos about those projects very soon.

Hello everyone!
I started filming Corvette videos again - so I will try and post these as I publish them.
In this video - we tear apart the fuel system - and install some fixes that where suggested over on CorvetteForum.
USYklt3H0cY
In this video - we test out the fixes from above - we solve the in motion fuel pressure drop - but we run into huge issues with fuel pressure when launching the car:
Hg8vxGqk8uM

09-30-2019, 08:02 AM
As you saw in the previous videos - we still had a fuel pressure drop. This turned out to be even a bigger problem then I thought it would be.
Tuns out - I fried the battery cable between the alternator and the starter - so in this video I replace the wiire, install a 270 amp alternator, and install a Zero gauge wire between the new alternator and the fuse box.
SZf0jxEMdKQ
After we fixed up the electrical system - I made the decision to replace the entire fuel system. I was sick of the external single pump design - and the leaking fitting/line problems that I kept running into.
So I picked up an Holley dual fuel pump kit + AFPR and return line from A&A Corvettes.
ZA0-4-PcrXw
We managed to kill the battery trying to test fire the car (I forgot to put the fuel pump relay back in) - and so I had to send that off to get replaced.
After the battery came back - we primed the fuel pumps - and test fired the car!
