Hi, new to the whole pro-touring thing. Im a 4x4 guy but I picked up a 69' Roadrunner last year, its an original 383 4spd car, I got the 383 but I got a 440 aswell so Im gonna drop the big one in(not stock of course).

Anyway I wanna make this car handle pretty well so I can take it to the local auto x events and watch the honda guys jaws drop when a 17' cruise liner can keep up. So Im looking for any tips or advice on the suspension setup. Mostly the rear because I know I want to put the RMS Alterkation K member kit in the front.

Any suggestions for a rear suspension, Ive heard good things about 3-links and XV motorsports makes a kit but it looks so simple I could build it. My friend said why not use ladder bars and just put on some coil overs, I dont think ladder bars would be good for handling, I thought it was a drag racing thing. Anyone have any suggestions?

This is how its sitting now, minus suspension. Gotta tear it apart and fix the rust first before I even think about suspension and cosmetics. AMD is gonna enjoy getting my money.....

Plans are to take the 440 I got and stroke it to 500ci mild street motor. RMS Alterkation tubular k member out front, coil overs and possibly fab up a 3 link if I can figure out how the geometry and how to measure it. XV motorsports makes a 3 link kit for 2 grand so about 2500 once I get it to the island. So I wanna fab one up, because I probly can make one for cheaper, mine might not have alluminum trailing arms but hey the coil overs will probly rack up most of the bill. A friend told me theres two ways to become resourceful, being broke, and being on and island in the middle of no where.
