powering a power seat

Does anyone know how to make a power seat work
without the seat having power from the fuseblock?
I'm trying to get the seat to go all the way back so I can
determine where to mount it .Haven't installed my American Autowire harness yet!

just hook it up to a 12v source... your booster, any car battery, a 12 or 14 volt dewalt battery... whatever

I just threw my for gen seats in my 67 yesterday for the power tour. I went off a hot lead on the console harness & screwed the ground to the trans tunnel. Not sure if it needs to be fused, but it was easy & it works.

If the wire gauge is not big enough to handle the current that all of your components draw through that wire it can burn up the wire. Although the seat motor should only draw current when you engage the switch to move it, I would fuse it just to be safe.

I used my 18V Dewalt battery temporarily til I got it wired in with my AAW Hwy 22 kit.
