Here is my 71 Camaro. Done in a big and little theme. Have been thinking about going the pro tour look. What do you guys think? (pretty sure I already know:yes: )
I've had the car for 30+ years and need to do something different with it. Plus an autocross track opened up in my town and it looks like fun!!

Thats a sweet looking 2nd gen. and way to go for hanging on to it for 30yrs If your thinking about some changes/upgrades:unibrow: Put the weld wheels/tires up for grabs and look at some more proportionate sizing. You can easily upgrade your suspension components to your goals without putting in a new front clip or changing out your rear end and so forth, unless your wallet is looking for attention.

I love the car. It looks great. I would love your wheels and tires for my 71 project. If you do decide to go that route keep me in mind for them. Take care.

Thanks Guys!! But no one is helping me to decide if I want to pro tour the car!?! Found a 555 for sale, maybe I'll keep the Mickey's for a while:D !

Part of the decision is wether or not you like going around corners at high speed, stopping fast, etc etc. I had my car set up as a road racer when I got it around 1991. After a few years I put a 6-71 blower on it and used it on the street but mainly drag racing. I missed the ability to corner, so I decided to change it back to a road race car but add more power so I could accelerate quicker then before to.
If you want that 555, you can use that to. I put a 581 with a procharger in mine.

I say keep the wheels and tires but try out the touring seen. When you get a little bored again change the wheels and tires back and do a little strip dutie. Thats what i plan on doing. But first i need to finish the car lol....no one said you have to change the whole car to be touring.

Nice 2nd gen!!! I am in agreeance with the dual purpose thing..... a set of wheels makes a huge difference and is an easy swap!

I know that car! I have admired your car over on NastyZ28 forum. I am going to use some of your interior tricks on my money pit.:_paranoid
I highly recommend autoX, it is very addicting. You can spend a ton of money and change the whole car at once or nickel and dime it as time goes on. I like making little changes and feeling the difference at each event. A wheel and tire package and some sway bars will get you going, its nothing you cant change back later, just $. Thats a beautiful car enjoy it to the max. My.02
555 will be amazing too!

Thanks Guys! We'll see what's next after I get the 555 together.
I like the idea of having 2 sets of wheels and tires and being able to change the look quickly!:D
How is that 555 coming along?

SLOOOOOW!
Have most of the parts necessary to put it together, just need to find some time to do it now! I hope to get it running before winter and at least drive it a little!

Beautiful car.
I have a 70 big & little, going on 20 years.
I had the same questions over a year ago, whether to convert or not.
I decided to modify to further enhance its original purpose.
BUT I didn't have a cool auto cross track open up just down the street either !!
You can change it up way cheaper than starting another project with something else. I'd be switching over in a heartbeat.
Not sure if you'd have to switch to a road race oil pan or not.
I know it was important in my 1/4 mile vs roundy round motors.
I think you'll be getting a ton more seat time in your baby and that's what it's all about.

Well it's running!! Took WAY too long to build it, install it and get it running! Still need to fine tune it, but it RUNS!!!:D

Also put some new wheels on it, stuck with the big and littles.
