I was interested in putting a manual rack and pinion on my 67 camaro. Was wondering how stiff the steering would be? I have a manual box right now but would the rack and pinion be worse?

IMHO it wouldn't be "worse" or stiffer... that would be an issue with wider tires etc... and of course if you're not "moving". Watch out for the ratio --- too quick a ratio can be a handful on the street... especially with the freeway ruts and stuff now. If it were me - and I just had a new chassis built this way - I'd do Power R&P and Manual brakes... but that's just me.

I agree with Greg. If I were to do it again I would do a power R/P. With power steering you can go a lil further on the caster settings and not fight the car so much on the road and with wide tires and slow parking lots power steering would be nice. One handed parking stall entries are kinda nice. VS a two handed workout just parking the car. I must be getting old, Hahaha. Ok, old and just getting older. JR
