For all the carbon fiber freaks.... now you can get some "art"......

http://www.carbonart45.com/index.html

I'm not sure how this is "automotive inspired".... because it appears to me that the sculptures are fish - but they're kinda kool.

i kinda see how it is. One shark had what looked like intake tubes for exhaust tips on its side. I dont think id ever buy one unless it was more auto inspired but its damn good work with carbon!

My son is major into Carbon fiber -- and he sends me this kind of stuff - just thought I'd post it up for what it's worth. Actually - I don't get the "automotive" connection with FISH... but the work is pretty nice nonetheless.

At least Greg didn't post it under the "let see some cool fabrication thread"
Not a fish fan but it is some unique art.

That's the kind of stuff that if seen at an early age, kids are liable to get Hooked on. :unibrow:

Hmm...

Instead of looking at it from a normal viewpoint, try looking at it from a what if? viewpoint.

Many of you see fish. A few of you may think it's a waste of CF and time. I think it's interesting how he manufactures his sculptures, theres some pretty sweet molding, and machining in some of those. The Hammerhead has what looks like the the bottom end of block (main caps) This feature alone would make for an awesome trim package...think of the masterful work of the RingBros...it's all "Design"

Interesting...

Thanks Greg!

That is in my oppinion not art.. but great decoration if you are into that kind of thing... if it was art it would evoke some sort of emotion or response... i find it boring albeit shiny

the CF toilet seat is cool in a totally different league

Jim -- As you know -- I took that photo of my new Xmas present -- and posted it on here. Trouble with that thing is -- all my toilets are OVAL and they only make that seat ROUND... :>) Alex (son) wasn't aware of different seat shapes when he ordered it..... It's now hanging in "the shed".

That's some good art, and what I'm saying is...If it wasn't for people doing wierd stuff with their talent, you wouldnt have ideas like this...

and I'm hearing he builds for F1? He's not only an artist, hes educated lol

GregWeld

If you google his name --- or maybe even his website might have his "bio" -- he was an F1 "mechanic" for 20 something years.

Pretty talented really. I wouldn't buy this stuff - and I'm kind of an art collector kinda guy - but this doesn't float my boat... but I can still appreciate the talent and the work to do it.
