The 2010 National Street Tire Challenge presented by Bridgestone Motorsports and the Milwaukee Region SCCA will be held in Milwaukee at Miller Park on Saturday June 19th.

For event details, please see: the Milwaukee Region web site www.scca-milwaukee.org/solo/solo.html

We will feature four (4) classes: All Wheel Drive, Front Wheel Drive; Rear Wheel Drive and a new Muscle Car class for older muscle cars and resto-mods.

All cars compete on their PAX index except "ST" classes which will compete on their Prepared index.

A set of Bridgestone RE-11s will be given to the overall winner on PAX and a second set of Bridgestone RE-11s will be given to a participant chosen at random.

Special trophies for all class winners.

Commemorative t-shirts for all paid entrants.

Camping available at very close by State Fair RV Park.

Lunch available for purchase on-site by Cousins Subs.

Last year's inaugural event was a blast. This year’s event will be much larger. Pre-registration is available on-line at the Milwaukee Region web site.

I went to this event last year with the Chevelle and it was an awesome course. Miller Park is a great venue for this event with a nice parking lot. The course was about a minute long and really fast!
Highly recommend this one to anybody that wants to autocross their car. The Milwaukee SCCA is a great group and all of their events are well run.

It was great that you guys made it out last year. We're hoping for an even more people this year. I would have loved to do the flyer with your car but unfortunately the guy taking more of the pictures was running pretty close to the same time as you. I think there was only 1 action shot that I had available and it wouldn't have looked good in the flyer. Maybe this year. :woot:

It also may not be very clear from the flyers or website but we're having a muscle car only class so you're competing against other similar cars. As soon as I get the final details on how to register in that class I'll let everyone know.

I have 100 tread wear. Will there be a Sunday Autocross day or will you have an exhibition class?

Yes, there is also a 'regular' SCCA autocross event on Sunday.

Thanks for all the great replies. I thought it would be helpful for me to tell everyone how to register for the National Street Tire Challenge.

1. Go to register.scca-milwaukee.org
2. Follow the "click here to register" button
3. Set up your account
4. GO to your garage and enter your car information.
5. Enter "EM" from the "class" drop down menu
6. Do not pick any kind of Street Tire (this will make the results for Muscle Cars separate from the other classes).
7. Pick an unused number.

When you register for the event, your car and number will come up.

Hope to see you all there!

Jeff.

Will there be a Sunday Autocross day or will you have an exhibition class? As Brian mentioned we will have a 'regular' SCCA-Milwaukee solo event on Sunday, however, the same class that you are running on Saturday (EM) will be available. So, if you want to make a weekend out of it you are welcome to participate both days.

This just in. Optima, sponsor of the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational has just announced it is sponsoring of the National Street Tire Challenge's Muscle Car Class. The Muscle Car class is designed for muscle cars, hot rods, and resto-mods, allowing them to compete amongst themselves for top class honors, and to compete for fastest PAX time with the All Wheel Drive, Front Wheel Drive and Rear Wheel Drive classes. Optima will provide a new battery certificate to all class winners, and one certificate to be drawn at random to a registered competitor. Welcome Optima!

The National Street Tire Challenge is now less than 2 weeks away. We would love nothing more than to have a nice full class of 25 or 30 cars competing for top honors. How about it you muscle car aficionados, who is coming?

Just a quick reminder, the National Street Tire Challenge is this weekend, Saturday June 19th. For all of you not going to the Optima Qualifier in Michigan, come on over to Miller Park in Milwaukee. Great course design (check out the video on the Heidt's site), special trophies, T-Shirts, Optima Battery certificate to the class winner, and a chance to win a new set of Bridgestones.

The cost is $55 on-site to non SCCA members, a pretty decent deal considering you get a t-shirt. Email me before Thursday at 5pm and I will make sure you get the on-line entry price when you register Saturday am.

Anyone get any pics of the Musclecar Class competitors? I'm curious what I would have been up against... I was planning to go, but needed to save some money so I ran a small local event this weekend instead.

I had the only car there that was a muscle car kinda 78 trans am, there was a mid 80's t.a. also that was it mostly tuner cars and vettes, I had fun but my car's a heavy underpowered boat I would've rather been at motorstate but my car wouldnt handle another road coarse event without some serious mods.
