I am looking for a Pro Touring car - the ideal car would be a late 2nd gen Camaro with an EFI & 6 speed swap. I am open to just about anything though - as long as it is capable of daily driver duty. It must be complete and running reliably. I don't mind some interior / paint / suspension issues since I would like a car that I can tinker with while I drive it.
My only real criteria are (relative) dependability, a manual trans, and 20ish mpg highway.
I am looking to spend no more than $14,000 on it. I live in Knoxville, TN but I spend a lot of time in the Ohio area as well. Would like to find a car local to one of those areas, but am willing to travel for the right car.
Please let me know what you have via email.

Thanks,
Dustin

You're looking for a very desperate seller. Curious to see if there's one out there for that amount.

I'm going to say NO. i think you would be lucky to find a project car with thoughs parts for that kind of cash. But I have been wrong before well atleast thats what the wife tells me :_paranoid I think you will need to up the money by at least $10,000.

I am well aware of the caliber of most of the cars on this site and I know the price range puts 99% of them out of reach. I have seen some 77-81 Camaros with EFI / 6spd swaps floating around near that range, as well as some more out of the box type cars.
I am not looking for a finished car. More of a project that I can drive while I complete it.
Maybe the "pro-touring" title is a little misleading. It may be more of a "resto - mod" type car I am looking for than the typical full blown PT cars. Then I can take it from there to the car that I want to have eventually.
Thanks for reading.

You missed out on a great deal not too long ago as Heath Elmer's Camaro sold for around $15K! Wish I'd have been in a position to pick it up as a daily driver as it would be PERFECT for just such a DD project!

Wow guys, thanks for all the leads.
I actually just picked up a pro touring project 69 Camaro here locally.
It is not currently running, and more of a project than I was looking to pick up, but the deal ended up being too good to pass up. It is partially finished with TONS of new parts all in boxes. I have always wanted a 69 so I couldn't say no.
Look for a project thread here soon!
Thanks Again,
Dustin
